On September 11, Green Shoots International School (hereinafter referred to as Green Shoots School) opened its doors to welcome students into the new school year 2023-2024 after being accused of "holding" 14 billion VND from parents and then suddenly closing the school.

On the morning of September 11, Choi Xanh School welcomed a few students to school.

Choi Xanh School has moved to a new location and rented facilities from Victoria Inter-level School in Dien Ngoc Ward, Dien Ban Town, Quang Nam Province, to organize teaching activities. This location is more than 10km from the old school in Cam Chau Ward, Hoi An City.

On the first morning of reopening, Choi Xanh School welcomed a few students, mainly primary school students.

Thus, with the addition of the Geography subject, the high school graduation exam from 2025 is expected to have 11 compulsory subjects and optional subjects instead of 10 subjects as previously reported.

Nearly 9 million VND/student fee collected at the beginning of the school year

Last week, social media was abuzz with information about a photo of the statistics of the beginning of the year revenues of Thanh Mien III High School (Hai Duong). Accordingly, the beginning of the year fees amounted to 8.7 million VND/student.

Immediately afterwards, Mr. Pham Van Hy, Principal of Thanh Mien III High School, confirmed that the image of the beginning of the year collection of more than 8.7 million VND spread on social networks was drafted by a teacher in the school, but this was not the official plan.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Hai Duong province assigned the Director of the Department of Education and Training of the province to direct the inspection, urgently clarify the above content, and report the results to the People's Committee of the province.

The Department of Education and Training, People's Committees of districts, towns and cities are responsible for directing the implementation of inspection, examination and supervision of collection levels and revenues of educational institutions under their management in accordance with regulations, absolutely not allowing "over-collection" in schools, directing and thoroughly instructing educational institutions to mobilize, manage and use funding and aid in accordance with current regulations.

There is a student who lost his whole family in a mini apartment fire.

According to statistics, 29 students who died in the fire on Khuong Ha Street (Hanoi) on the night of September 12 were mainly students from Khuong Dinh Primary School and Khuong Dinh Secondary School. Among the students who died in the mini apartment fire, 6 were students from Khuong Dinh Secondary School (3 were in 6th grade, 2 were in 7th grade and 1 was in 9th grade). More tragically, 3 students lost their entire families.

A representative of Khuong Dinh Secondary School said that immediately after the tragic incident, the school organized a ceremony to encourage, visit and mourn the families of the students who were affected. The school also supported each family with 5 million VND.

The Hanoi Department of Education and Training and the Hanoi Education Trade Union have launched a campaign calling on staff and teachers to donate and share the pain and loss with the students and families of the victims.

Sharing the grief for the students who died in the fire, the leaders of the Department of Education and Training, along with officials and teachers of the Education Trade Union, observed a minute of silence to remember the victims. At the launching ceremony, the Department also raised 179 million VND.

New student dies before opening day

On the afternoon of September 14, Dr. Nguyen Quy Thanh, Principal of the University of Education (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) said that Pham Hoang Gia Linh, a student majoring in Educational Sciences, was one of the victims of the horrific fire in Khuong Ha on September 12.

The school's Youth Union has mobilized kind-hearted people to join hands to support and help the family of female student Pham Hoang Gia Linh. The school visited, encouraged and shared the pain with her relatives.

Also a new student who had just entered the school, Do Nguyen Thien Huong, K43 - Academy of Journalism and Propaganda, passed away forever in the mini apartment fire.

Before the opening ceremony of the 2023-2024 school year of this school, the delegates took a minute to commemorate the victims of the mini apartment fire in Hanoi on the night of September 12.
