(QBĐT) - On the afternoon of March 20, the Provincial Police Department organized the announcement and awarding of decisions to reward collectives with outstanding achievements in crime prevention and control. Attending were comrade Tran Phong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Colonel Nguyen Thanh Liem, Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Director of the Provincial Police Department; Colonel Chan Xay-Nan Tha Vong, Deputy Director of the Khammouane Provincial Police Department (Lao PDR); representatives of leaders of relevant departments, branches and units.

During a long period of monitoring and grasping the situation, the drug crime prevention and control force of Quang Binh Provincial Police discovered a number of subjects who were illegally buying, selling, and transporting large quantities of drugs from Laos to Vietnam using extremely sophisticated and reckless tricks. Quang Binh Provincial Police coordinated with Khammouane Provincial Police to establish a special project, synchronously and effectively deploying professional measures to combat the subjects.

According to the plan to solve the case, on March 12, 2025, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department, Quang Binh Provincial Police and Khammouane Provincial Police presided over and coordinated with relevant professional units of Quang Binh Provincial Police, Customs Sub-Department of Region 9, Provincial Border Guard and Drug Prevention and Control Task Force No. 2 (Coast Guard Command) to deploy forces and organize the arrest of Dinh Hong Thuan (born in 1971, Hoa Hop commune, Minh Hoa district) and Nguyen Thanh Phuong (born in 1993, Bac Ly ward, Dong Hoi city), seizing about 20kg of various drugs.

Continuing the investigation, the investigation team arrested Pham Le Tuan Anh (born in 1995, Dong Son Ward, Dong Hoi City) for illegal drug trafficking, seizing about 5kg of various drugs. At 9:00 p.m. the same day, the Investigation Team coordinated with the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department, Quang Tri Provincial Police to arrest and escort Pham Trung Hoa (born in 1993, Nam Ly Ward, Dong Hoi City) who was on the run in Dong Ha City, Quang Tri Province to Quang Binh to serve the investigation.

The process of fighting the case demonstrated the close, smooth coordination and high determination of the forces, the unity, closeness and sensitivity in the direction of the Project Board, ensuring absolute safety for officers, soldiers, people and subjects. Currently, the Provincial Police Investigation Agency has initiated the case and is continuing to expand the investigation.

Previously, Quang Binh Provincial Police and Khammouane Provincial Police had a working session, exchanged professional knowledge and summarized and learned experiences in fighting against a cross-border drug trafficking and transportation ring, seizing more than 25kg of various drugs.
