Kien Xuong: Efforts to achieve double-digit economic growth target

To strive to achieve the economic growth target of 10.2% or more in 2025, from the beginning of the year, Kien Xuong district has developed an action program, implementation plan and set out key tasks and solutions to realize the set goals.

As soon as the Provincial Party Standing Committee issued Directive No. 42-CT/TU on focusing on leadership and direction to resolutely and effectively implement key political tasks in 2025, striving for double-digit economic growth and completing at the best level the targets of the Resolution of the 20th Provincial Party Congress, Kien Xuong district focused on reviewing the level of completion of the set targets, clearly indicating the targets with room for improvement, building programs and plans for implementation, striving with the highest political determination, the greatest efforts, clearly demonstrating the strong aspiration to rise up.

Identifying the district's strength as agricultural production, Kien Xuong has focused on directing localities to effectively implement the 2025 production plan; focusing on transforming crop structures, implementing land accumulation to form commodity production areas associated with product consumption. Encouraging the construction of agricultural models applying high technology, organic production models, rice production combined with conservation, development and exploitation of natural aquatic resources.

Mr. Dinh Cong Man, Head of the District's Department of Agriculture and Environment, affirmed: To create a change in agricultural production, Kien Xuong district will focus on planning high-quality rice areas, developing aquaculture in semi-floating ponds, of which 500 hectares have been planned in 10 communes along the dike for implementation in the coming time. In addition, the district continues to focus on developing unique products such as rice and fish sauce in riverside areas to bring high economic efficiency, while replicating high-tech agricultural models throughout the district. The district's agricultural sector will strive to achieve a growth target of 2.62% or more this year. Along with that, the Department will coordinate to effectively implement the One Commune One Product (OCOP) program, striving to have 5 more products certified as OCOP in 2025, 3 communes meeting advanced new rural standards and 1 commune meeting model new rural standards.

Mr. Le Van Tuc, Kha Phu village, Binh Thanh commune said: Since the beginning of 2023, I have boldly invested nearly 1.4 billion VND to build a high-tech agricultural production model on an area of over ^2,000m2 . Every year, I rotate planting 3-4 crops of melons, tomatoes, bell peppers, cucumbers with more than 5,000 trees, and below, I release catfish and banana fish with a quantity of 15,000 fish. Thanks to my own efforts, I have turned the low-lying acidic land into an effective economic development model, earning an average profit of over 1 billion VND per year.

Mr. Pham Ngoc Thanh, Director of the Agricultural Service Production and Trading Cooperative of Hong Tien Commune, said: Taking advantage of the locality's strengths with earthworms living in brackish water, since 2022, the commune has focused on building local specialty products by planning a 50-hectare organic rice production area with over 200 participating households. To have delicious, clean, and natural products, the locality has introduced ST25 rice variety for cultivation and released natural earthworms into the fields. After only 1 year of implementation, the locality has produced Hong Tien earthworm rice in bags for sale to the market with an economic efficiency from rice increasing by 10-15% compared to conventional production and creating momentum for natural resources such as earthworms and clams to grow and develop more and more.

Hieu Lap Garment Company Limited (Binh Dinh Commune, Kien Xuong District) creates jobs for more than 200 workers.

Along with agriculture, Kien Xuong district identifies industrial development as a key task to promote economic growth.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, Deputy Head of the District Economic, Infrastructure and Urban Affairs Division, affirmed: The district leaders always pay attention, encourage, motivate, promptly remove difficulties, create confidence and motivation for businesses to confidently invest in the area. Every year, the district maintains a dialogue conference to remove difficulties and obstacles for businesses; synchronously implement solutions to improve competitiveness at the district level. Focus on accelerating the construction progress of infrastructure of industrial clusters (ICs), especially the Binh Minh IC and Trung Ne IC projects; start construction of technical infrastructure projects of ICs: Con Nhat, Ninh An to create a breakthrough.

Mr. Luong Van Thuan, Director of Thuan Cuong General Trading Company Limited, informed: As an investor in Binh Minh Industrial Park infrastructure, as soon as I had a clean site, I accelerated my investment to attract secondary businesses to operate soon, contributing to accelerating the economic development of the district. Therefore, from the end of 2024, I invested over 300 billion VND to implement phase 1 of the project, prioritizing investment in necessary items first, especially the centralized wastewater treatment area. It is expected that in 2025, we will attract 4 secondary investors to build factories.
