After 33 months of construction, the Ninh Binh Provincial Theater project was completed on schedule, ensuring quality and safety. The Ninh Binh Provincial Theater project was designed in a modern, unique, cultural architectural style, creating an urban highlight. It is the only civil project in the province with a 100-year design, with a complex technical design located in an area with high population density; harmoniously combining the function of performing arts with the office of a number of units under the Cultural Sector.
The theater is built on an area of 6,453 m2 on Le Dai Hanh Street, Ninh Binh City, with a total investment of 245 billion VND from the provincial budget, including 3 main blocks: Performance service block, office block, technical basement block.
In addition, the sound and lighting equipment of the Theater is also invested in modern, high quality, synchronous, meeting the requirements of performing arts, exhibitions and related cultural activities.
The project construction process has had the close and decisive leadership and direction of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee from the stages of investment policy establishment, architectural competition, design, project approval, supervision, and construction; the encouragement and timely removal of difficulties and obstacles; the efforts and determination of the investor; the effective supervision of the design and supervision consulting team; the focus and responsibility of the construction unit to soon complete the project and put it into use; the consensus, support, and sharing of the people.
Thereby, it has demonstrated the spirit of solidarity, efforts, and determination to complete the Ninh Binh Provincial Theater project, creating an urban highlight, meeting the needs of professional art performances, cultural exchanges, community activities, mass art, and being a place to organize important events of the province.
Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Tong Quang Thin, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed: Promoting the historical tradition of the ancient capital with a thousand-year cultural history, a place blessed by nature with many scenic spots, chosen by history as the imperial capital, a place that marks the formation and development of human society since prehistoric times.
In 2014, Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex was recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural and Natural Heritage, affirming the outstanding global value of natural landscape and the history of human existence and continuous development through natural transformation processes.
This is the basis and foundation for the province to choose the goal of rapid and sustainable development, taking culture, history, tourism and heritage economy as resources and driving forces to build Ninh Binh by 2030 into a fairly developed province, with the highest growth rate among the southern provinces of the Red River Delta; basically meeting the criteria of a centrally-run city with the characteristics of a Millennium Heritage City and a creative city.
To achieve that goal, Ninh Binh province has been promoting synchronous investment in key projects and works, completing technical infrastructure to ensure the criteria of a civilized, cultured, modern, integrated and developed urban area.
Along with that is the implementation of building large cultural institutions, symbolic and typical of the province such as Theaters, Museums, Libraries...
Up to now, the construction of Ninh Binh Provincial Theater, one of the key projects of the province, has been completed, with modern facilities, meeting the needs of professional cultural and artistic exchanges and performances, serving the organization of major events of the province, regional, national and international events, while creating a private space for community activities, encouraging the preservation and promotion of traditional cultural and artistic values of the locality, contributing to improving the cultural and spiritual life of the people, attracting tourists to Ninh Binh.
The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested: After organizing the inauguration and handing over to the Department of Culture and Sports for use, the Investor and the management unit shall complete the documents and organize the settlement of the project in accordance with the provisions of law.
Urgently build a dossier, collect people's opinions and submit to competent authorities to consider naming the theater Pham Thi Tran Theater to honor the founder of the Vietnamese theater industry, who was appointed by Emperor Dinh Tien Hoang as U Ba, an official in charge of singing in the royal court in the 10th century.
Conduct research on the forms of organization and management of the Theater to ensure proper implementation of its purposes and functions; ensure that the Theater is always lit to serve the masses and gradually improve the quality of art enjoyment of the community. First of all, focus on coordinating with Vietnam Television to successfully organize the Sao Mai Rendezvous Contest 2024 at Ninh Binh Provincial Theater.
At the ceremony, delegates performed the ribbon-cutting ceremony to inaugurate Ninh Binh Provincial Theater, witnessed by a large number of people from all walks of life.
