On August 13, the Provincial Association for Promotion of Education in collaboration with Hanoi Heart Hospital organized a program to examine, screen, and provide free heart disease treatment consultation for children in Nhan My and Tran Hung Dao communes (Ly Nhan district).
During the course of one day, the staff, doctors and nurses of Hanoi Heart Hospital directly examined and screened for congenital heart disease for nearly 2,500 children under 15 years old in Nhan My and Tran Hung Dao communes. Here, the children had their heart rates measured, had echocardiograms, received cardiovascular health care advice and were screened for heart diseases.
At the same time, parents were also informed and guided on how to recognize children with signs of congenital heart disease in order to examine, support treatment and perform timely surgery. Also through the examination and screening, doctors and nurses gave timely recommendations and intervened, advising parents on surgical and treatment directions for children with signs of heart disease.
This is one of the practical and meaningful activities in the implementation of health care for children and child protection of the Ha Nam Province Education Promotion Association and Hanoi Heart Hospital. Through the program, children with congenital heart disease have the opportunity to receive timely treatment and have a healthy heart to confidently step into life.
On this occasion, Hanoi Heart Hospital presented many meaningful gifts, including school supplies, to disadvantaged children in Nhan My and Tran Hung Dao communes with a total value of 20 million VND.
