In November 1924, as a member of the Eastern Committee of the Communist International and a member of the Presidium of the Peasants' International, Nguyen Ai Quoc came from Moscow to Guangzhou under the pen name Ly Thuy and worked as an interpreter for the Soviet advisor Borodin.

Leader Nguyen Ai Quoc mainly worked at Mr. Borodin's residence during the day, but often came to Van Minh Street to teach students of the Vietnamese Youth Political Training Class, sometimes staying overnight here.
