Promoting the value, making creative efforts and affirming the identity of cultural and tourism events has helped Thanh Hoa attract a large number of tourists since the early days of spring.
In addition to the significance of heritage conservation and cultural promotion, cultural and tourism events are gradually becoming impressive tourism products, attracting tourists to Thanh Hoa. With the expectation of increasing the attraction of cultural and tourism events, this year, all localities and destinations in the province will organize about 150 events. In particular, spring is associated with traditional festivals, imbued with national cultural identity such as: Ba Trieu Temple Festival (Hau Loc), Cua Dat Temple Festival (Thuong Xuan), Meo Pagoda Festival (Lang Chanh), Nua - Am Tien Temple Festival (Trieu Son), Muong Xia Festival (Quan Son), Phu Na Festival (Nhu Thanh)... Besides, there are ancient Tet activities, with many traditional folk games and performances, unique cultural and artistic performances to serve tourists when coming to Thanh Hoa in early spring.
Located on the right bank of the Chu River, the Cua Dat Historical and Cultural Relic Site (Thuong Xuan) is one of the places that attracts a large number of tourists in the early spring of the province. The relic includes the temple of Cam Ba Thuoc - the leader of the Can Vuong movement of the ethnic groups in the western region of Thanh Hoa, the temple of Ba Chua Thuong Ngan - the Mother Goddess who governs the mountainous areas in the spiritual belief of Mother worship of the Vietnamese people. This year, along with the activities of offering incense and sightseeing, from January 29 (the first day of the Lunar New Year) to March 29, the Cua Dat Temple Festival will host a number of cultural activities such as: the procession of Cam Ba Thuoc; organizing folk games and performances (bamboo dancing, throwing balls, swinging...); promoting local specialties... Also in the early spring, the Nang Han Trinh Van festival will take place in Thuong Xuan district. The festival begins with the procession of offerings from Lum Nua village, Van Xuan commune into the Muong cave to worship Lady Han and the gods who govern the Muong village, praying for prosperity, happiness, and good crops... The festival takes place with many unique activities such as: gongs, bamboo poles, bamboo dancing, tug of war, stick pushing, to le, con throwing... bringing a multi-sounding and multi-colored cultural space that attracts tourists.
Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Thuong Xuan district, Le Huu Giap, said: "In early spring, along with the Cua Dat temple festival, the district also holds a number of other attractive cultural and tourism events, encouraging visitors to attend and experience. With a large number of visitors, up to tens of thousands of people, there were times when the number of visitors was overloaded during the Lunar New Year holiday. Previously, the district assigned specific tasks to departments and offices, and issued documents guiding the implementation of regulations on civilized festival lifestyle; traffic diversion plans; ensuring security and order... during peak days. Along with that, coordinate with units and functional forces to effectively supervise and manage at relic sites, propagate to people and visitors to strictly follow the rules and regulations of the destination, so that the festival is truly safe, civilized, imbued with national cultural identity, economical and effective".
In the center of Thanh Hoa city, the pace of life seems to slow down in the early days of spring, with a variety of attractive cultural and tourism activities such as: a series of activities on Tet in the ancient village (Dong Son ancient village), calligraphy performance (President Ho Chi Minh Memorial Cultural Area), "Ancient Space" (Provincial Museum)... Not too noisy and bustling like some other historical sites of the province, but these events always attract tourists. The series of activities on Tet in the ancient village in Ham Rong ward alone, from January 18 to February 2 (ie January 5, At Ty year) attracted thousands of visitors to visit and check-in.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Huyen (Thanh Hoa City) said: "Thanks to the city's early spring cultural and tourism events, my family has had more meaningful experiences and traditional cultural education spaces for our children. Amidst the hustle and bustle of life, in the early days of spring, we can leisurely go to the Dong Son ancient village market, visit Pham Thong Pagoda or go to the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Cultural Area to watch calligraphy performances, ask for the first words of the year... my family members really feel comfortable, as if they have been recharged with energy for a new year. Thanh Hoa City residents in particular and tourists in general really need more such attractive cultural and tourism events and activities to participate in and experience."
One of the development orientations of Thanh Hoa tourism in recent years is to develop products based on the outstanding advantages of nature and culture of each locality, in order to renew key tourism products, including cultural tourism products. According to tourism experts, organizing cultural and tourism events in early spring not only contributes to promoting and honoring cultural values but also contributes effectively to the process of developing and enhancing tourism products, contributing to promoting the local socio-economy. Meanwhile, Thanh Hoa has many advantages to create creative and attractive cultural and tourism experience spaces.
According to the event calendar, from January 28 (December 29) to January 10, there will be nearly 30 cultural and tourism festival events taking place in all localities in the province. The success of the events is expected to contribute to creating a colorful and attractive tourism picture, promising to bring a new year of bumper harvest for the "smokeless industry" of Thanh Hoa.
