(NADS) - On the morning of November 29th, at the Hanoi City Cultural Center, the District Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ha Dong District organized the opening of the Painting and Photography Exhibition to celebrate the 120th anniversary of the founding of Ha Dong (December 6, 1904 - December 6, 2024).

Delegates cut the ribbon to inaugurate the exhibition.

Attending the ceremony were: Nguyen Thanh Xuan, Member of the Hanoi City Party Committee, Secretary of the Ha Dong District Party Committee; Ly Thi Thuy Hanh, Director of the Hanoi City Cultural Center; Nguyen Van Truong, Standing Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the Ha Dong District People's Council; Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the Ha Dong District People's Committee; and photographer Nguyen Van Toan, Chairman of the Hanoi City Art Photography Association.

The Art Exhibition of Paintings and Photographs celebrating the 120th anniversary of the founding of Ha Dong District is a remarkable highlight in the district's series of celebratory activities. With a burning passion for art and a special love for the land of Ha Dong, two artists – Comrade Truong The Cau, former Standing Deputy Secretary of the Town Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Ha Dong town (now Ha Dong district), former City Party Committee member and Secretary of the Phu Xuyen District Party Committee; and Comrade Nguyen Van Truong, Standing Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Ha Dong district – along with several photographers, have contributed 70 paintings and photographs to the exhibition, truthfully and vividly reflecting the beauty of the land and people of Ha Dong, as well as the remarkable changes in Ha Dong over 120 years of construction and development.

Overview of the exhibition opening ceremony.

Located southwest of Hanoi, Ha Dong is a land rich in history and culture, with a tradition of patriotism and unwavering revolutionary spirit. Throughout its 120-year history, through eight divisions, mergers, name changes, and administrative boundary shifts, Ha Dong has always lived up to its status as the center of the former Ha Dong, Ha Son Binh, and Ha Tay provinces, and as an inner-city district of Hanoi today.

Exactly 120 years after its founding and 70 years after its liberation, having weathered the ups and downs of history, the Party Committee, government, and people of Ha Dong are always proud of their glorious contributions to the cause of national liberation, national development, and their role as a central urban area throughout many historical periods. Generations of Ha Dong people, with their resilience, intelligence, and arduous sacrifices, have fostered a tradition of patriotism, unity, diligence, and creativity in labor and production, creating a profound and multifaceted culture that is the symbol of Ha Dong.

With 70 paintings and photographs on display, I hope the exhibition offers the most authentic glimpses into the changes and development of Ha Dong over its 120 years of establishment; as well as showcasing the proud achievements of the Party Committee, government, and people of Ha Dong district during its 120 years of formation, construction, and development. Through this, it aims to educate the younger generation about the tradition of patriotism and love for their homeland; and to raise awareness among Party committees, government, armed forces, and the people about the responsibility of the entire political system in building and developing Ha Dong district into an increasingly prosperous, civilized, modern, and sustainably developed area.

The exhibition is open from November 29th to December 3rd.
