This special event is an opportunity to promote the image of the country and people of Vietnam, rich in historical traditions, humanistic culture, and socio-economic achievements, to the Thai people, the large number of overseas Vietnamese in Thailand and the international community. The exhibition also contributes to promoting the friendly and strategic relationship between the two governments and peoples of Vietnam and Thailand.

The opening ceremony of the Exhibition was attended by Ms. Steejit Taipiboonsuk - Deputy Secretary General of the Thai Parliament, Ms. Suchira Silanon - Representative of the Bangkok government, Mr. Sanan Angubolkul, President of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand, representatives of the Ministry of Information and Communications, and Mr. Do Xuan Phuc, President of the Thai-Vietnamese Association in Bangkok.

The opening ceremony of the Exhibition and announcement of the awards of the Photo and Video Contest “Happy Vietnam - Happy Vietnam 2024” was solemnly held at the Opera House, Hanoi on December 11, and was broadcast live on VTV4. This is the second year the Contest has been held online on the Vietnam Image Promotion Platform at: https://vietnam.vn .

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, Director of the Department of External Information, Ministry of Information and Communications said: "This year's "Happy Vietnam" photo and video contest was successful with more than 10,300 entries from nearly 7,000 authors, including nearly 600 international authors and 270 Vietnamese authors living abroad. That shows the strong spread of love for the homeland, the enthusiasm of people across the country in promoting the image of the country, people, and beautiful cultural traditions of our nation to the international community. The entries vividly depict the beauty of a peaceful, beautiful, and vibrant Vietnam. Today, the best photos, representing 180 emotional stories, have been displayed at this exhibition. Through that, we hope to bring you authentic perspectives on Vietnam - a a country rich in cultural identity, humanity and is striving to integrate strongly..."
