The exhibition gives viewers a realistic and vivid perspective of the peaceful and beautiful country of Vietnam, with a long history, striving to develop and actively integrate with the world.

Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, Director of the Department of External Information, Ministry of Information and Communications, introduced the content of the photos displayed at the exhibition to distinguished guests.

180 photos depicting 180 interesting and emotional stories about the people and the happy country of Vietnam were introduced at the exhibition "Happy Vietnam," which opened on December 23 in Bangkok, Thailand.

The event, organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications in coordination with the Vietnamese Embassy in Thailand, brings viewers realistic and vivid perspectives of the peaceful and beautiful country of Vietnam, with a long history, unique and humane cultural identity, and is striving to develop and actively integrate with the world.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the exhibition, attended by representatives of the National Assembly and the Bangkok government, representatives of the diplomatic corps in Thailand, the Thai-Vietnamese Friendship Association, and the overseas Vietnamese community and students in Thailand, Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Pham Viet Hung emphasized his wish to introduce to Thai and international friends as well as the overseas Vietnamese community the country and people of Vietnam, rich in historical traditions, humanistic culture and happiness; hoping that tourists will come to Vietnam to explore and experience the natural beauty, rich culture, the hospitality of the people and the vibrant development of Vietnam.

Expressing her honor to attend and deliver the opening speech at the exhibition, Ms. Steejit Taipiboonsuk, Deputy Secretary General of the Thai House of Representatives, quoted the proverb "a picture is worth a thousand words," affirming that the photos displayed at the exhibition demonstrate the beautiful, dynamic and happy country of Vietnam.

“What is a nation if not people contributing in their own way to the betterment of society?” said Steejit. “What is a nation if not people who are cared for and thrive in happiness? What is a nation if not people who celebrate and spread their beauty and way of life? That is a beautiful country. That is Vietnam.”

The Deputy Secretary General of the Thai House of Representatives expressed his belief that when going through each photo at the exhibition, viewers will enjoy discovering the richness of Vietnamese culture and the extraordinary qualities of its people.

Unable to hide his emotion and pride, Mr. Dinh Viet Thong, Vice President of the Vietnamese Association in Bangkok and surrounding areas, said that when he heard that there would be a photo exhibition "Happy Vietnam" held at the Embassy, he and his fellow members of the Association were very excited and made an appointment to be present today to see the photos with their own eyes.

He believes that to have a happy Vietnam like today, we cannot forget the contributions of Uncle Ho, the Communist Party of Vietnam and the heroic martyrs who sacrificed for the country.

Looking closely at each photo displayed at the exhibition, Israeli Ambassador to Thailand Orna Sagiv said she was truly attracted by the colorful diversity of Vietnam. But what impressed her even more was the connection between generations shown in many photos, such as the scene of grandparents with their children and grandchildren.

And another thing that attracted the Israeli Ambassador was the photos of people with disabilities and how they overcome their disabilities to be happy. According to her, this is a beautiful photo exhibition.

Sharing the same view, New Zealand Ambassador to Thailand Jonathan Kings said the exhibition showed him how diverse Vietnam is. “I love the photos of the highlanders, the top games, the family photos. And it’s a beautiful and diverse country,” Ambassador Kings said. “I’ve been to Vietnam once on holiday, hiked in Sapa and visited Hanoi. But those are the only places I’ve visited. After seeing this exhibition, I want to go there again.”

According to Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, Director of the Department of External Information, Ministry of Information and Communications, the photos displayed at the exhibition are the best works selected from the "Happy Vietnam" Photo and Video Contest in 2024.

In its second year, the contest was successful with more than 10,300 entries from nearly 7,000 authors, including nearly 600 international authors and 270 Vietnamese authors living abroad. This shows the strong spread of love for the homeland, the enthusiasm of people across the country in promoting the image of the country, people, and beautiful cultural traditions of the Vietnamese people to the international community./.
