According to the announcement, in the series of events "Vietnam - Laos Special Friendship Festival 2023", there will be a photo exhibition on Vietnam - Laos Special Friendship 2023 organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications in coordination with the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province, on the occasion of the 61st anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam - Laos diplomatic relations (1962 - 2023) and the 46th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between the two countries (1977 - 2023).
In Hue City, Thua Thien Hue Province, in the series of events "Vietnam - Laos Special Friendship Festival 2023", a photo exhibition on Vietnam - Laos Special Friendship 2023 took place.
Attending the photo exhibition were representatives of leaders of central agencies and departments; leaders of the Ministry of Information and Communications; leaders of the People's Committee and departments, departments, branches, and enterprises of Thua Thien Hue province and Laos; representatives of some border provinces sharing a border with Laos; students of Thua Thien Hue province and Lao students studying in Hue city, along with leaders of the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism of Laos, representatives of the Lao Embassy in Vietnam; Lao Consulate in Da Nang; leaders of Salavan province and representatives of Sekong province of Laos; reporters of the Lao News Agency (KPL) and Lao reporters from Salavan and Sekong provinces.

Inheriting the achievements of the Vietnam - Laos Special Friendship Festival held in 2018 in Dien Bien province and in 2019 in Nghe An province, this year, the Program Organizing Committee will further promote foreign information activities with three pillars: strengthening Vietnam - Laos cooperation in the field of information and communication; Strengthening investment activities, trade promotion, tourism between Vietnam and Laos in general and between localities sharing the border in particular; Strengthening people-to-people exchanges between the two countries, especially people in provinces bordering Vietnam - Laos.

On September 5, 1962, Vietnam and Laos agreed to establish diplomatic relations, opening a new chapter in the cause of further strengthening and developing the relationship between the two countries. In the struggle for national liberation and independence of each country, the close bond, coordination, selfless, wholehearted and righteous assistance between the two countries and the two peoples of Vietnam and Laos became an unparalleled strength and an important factor contributing to bringing the revolutions of the two countries from one victory to another, towards complete victory in 1975. Entering a new period, a period of peace, national construction, deep awareness of the meaning and special relationship between Vietnam and Laos. On July 18, 1977, the two countries signed the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation, affirming the special solidarity, cooperation, support and mutual assistance in the cause of building and protecting the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of each country. This is a document of great historical significance, marking a new, comprehensive development step in the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos.

Over the past 46 years, since the implementation of the Vietnam-Laos Treaty of Amity and Cooperation, the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos have been constantly consolidated and developed. The special relationship between Vietnam and Laos has become a sacred cultural heritage of the two peoples, a place where many beautiful and profound values converge that the intelligence and sentiments of humanity always admire and honor, as President Souphanouvong once said: "The brotherly friendship between the Lao and Vietnamese people is so great that no song, music or poem can fully describe it. That friendship is higher than mountains, longer than rivers, wider than the ocean, more beautiful than the full moon, more fragrant than any of the most fragrant flowers. That beautiful friendship has been cultivated and built with all our sincere hearts. Therefore, no evil spirit, no enemy can destroy it."
