In the three months of 2025, international visitors to Ho Chi Minh City are estimated to reach 1,635,620, an increase of 18.2% over the same period in 2024, reaching 19.2% of the 2025 plan; domestic visitors are estimated to reach 8,574,194, an increase of 6.3%, reaching 19.1% of the 2025 plan.
Similarly, during this period, the total revenue of the city's tourism industry is estimated at VND 56,662 billion, an increase of 26.7% over the same period in 2024, reaching 21.8% of the 2025 plan.
This is the information announced by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism on the afternoon of March 25 about the city's tourism industry activities in the first quarter of 2025.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, in order to continue introducing the city's typical destinations and tourism products; promoting and disseminating attractive tourism products, connecting travel and tourism businesses to exploit and develop routes, improving the quality of tourism services, creating richness and diversity for tourism programs serving domestic and foreign tourists to the city, the Department of Tourism has coordinated with businesses, the People's Committee of Thu Duc City and districts to promote the development of inter-district tourism products with the linked tourism products "Go Mon" (District 12, Go Vap, Hoc Mon District, Cu Chi); "A Corner of Green Saigon" (District 4, District 7, Nha Be District); Saigon Commandos "Legendary Basements" (District 1, District 3, District 10).
Towards the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), the Ho Chi Minh City tourism industry has launched and organized communication on social networking platforms activities to announce the identity and communication message "Find the right quality, touch the right feeling - Find Your Vibes" of the city's tourism industry in 2025 along with 50 graphic images of typical works and symbols, depicting the image of typical destinations of Saigon - Ho Chi Minh City.
The “personalized avatar” campaign received attention and positive response, attracting over 14,870 avatar downloads on the website https://50years.visithcmc.vn/avatar.
The tourism industry has implemented a data set of images of 50 iconic destinations of the city's tourism; implemented a short film production project (TVC) called "50 Flashes" to contribute to promoting the image of the city's destinations associated with the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.
The Department of Tourism coordinates with the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Union and related departments, branches and units to organize the 11th Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival in 2025 with many unique and attractive activities, honoring the beauty of Vietnamese Ao Dai such as: Opening program of the Ao Dai Festival, Folk dance performance with Ao Dai, Ao Dai Art program with the theme "Sac-Son Vietnam," interactive exhibition space with Ao Dai, Ao Dai competitions with both online and live forms.
Regarding the development orientation of waterway tourism, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism has surveyed the river tourism routes connecting Ho Chi Minh City to the provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta and Southeast regions, thereby perfecting old products to re-deploy 14 waterway tourism routes by tourist canoe and cruise ship from Ho Chi Minh City to the Mekong Delta.
Of which, there are two high-speed boat routes connecting to Cambodia; continue to complete 19 waterway tourism routes with accommodation services on the river and orient to build 22 new waterway tourism routes from Ho Chi Minh City to the Mekong Delta and Cambodia; conduct surveys and evaluate waterway tourism routes connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Dong Nai and Ba Ria-Vung Tau provinces.
