Promoting the role and responsibility of youth of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences in the new context

Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW identifies “Science, technology, innovation and digital transformation development are decisive factors for the development of countries…”. In that context, the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences plays an important role as a major research institution of the country to promptly provide scientific arguments for the development and formulation of policies, strategies, planning and plans of the Party and State.

The dialogue program took place in an open atmosphere, with many enthusiastic opinions, mentioning issues related to research support mechanisms, policies to attract and develop talents as well as difficulties in the process of international integration.

Many delegates expressed their desire for more mechanisms for young researchers to access research programs and major tasks, thereby helping union members and young people gradually become capable of leading projects from the ministerial level and above.

Some opinions recommend that the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences increase the application of digital technology; actively promote interdisciplinary links, and strengthen cooperation with research units and organizations around the world. The Institute needs to have policies on exchanging scholars, training young people and young scientists, or programs to directly work and conduct joint research with prestigious international scientists to have the opportunity to accumulate more experience.

Speaking at the program, Dr. Phan Chi Hieu, President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, emphasized that 2025 is the year to start implementing the Project to enhance capacity and develop the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences into a key research center, on par with advanced countries in the region and the world after being approved by the Prime Minister.

The opinions recorded at the dialogue program are valuable information for the Academy to continue to improve mechanisms and policies, creating conditions for the youth of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences to maximize their potential, contributing to the implementation of strategic tasks in the new development stage.
