Vietnam Militia and Self-Defense Force honored to receive Ho Chi Minh Medal

On the afternoon of March 26, President Luong Cuong attended the ceremony to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Militia and Self-Defense Force's tradition day (March 28, 1935 - March 28, 2025) and received the Ho Chi Minh Medal. The ceremony was held live at the Hanoi bridgehead and connected online nationwide. General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense chaired the ceremony. Attending at the Vinh Phuc bridgehead were comrade Phung Thi Kim Nga, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of departments, agencies, unions, and localities of the province.

Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Phung Thi Kim Nga; Colonel Dang Quoc Dong, Commander of the Provincial Military Command and leaders of departments, branches, sectors, unions, districts and cities of the province attended at Vinh Phuc bridge.

At the ceremony, reviewing the glorious tradition of the Militia and Self-Defense Force, General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense affirmed: After 90 years of building, fighting and growing, overcoming many difficulties, hardships and sacrifices, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Militia and Self-Defense Force has always been united and loyal to the Fatherland, the People, and the revolutionary cause of the Party; fought steadfastly, intelligently and courageously to achieve great victories in the cause of national liberation, defending the Fatherland and fulfilling glorious international obligations, which is the pride of the Vietnamese people. Today, the Militia and Self-Defense Force has developed in terms of quantity, quality, organization and equipment; the overall quality has been improved, meeting the requirements of building and defending the Fatherland in the new situation.

Speaking at the ceremony, President Luong Cuong congratulated the great achievements of the Vietnam Militia and Self-Defense Force over the past 90 years. In response to the requirements of protecting the Fatherland in the new situation, President Luong Cuong requested all levels, sectors and localities to continue to effectively organize and implement the Party's resolutions and the State's policies and laws on the Militia and Self-Defense Force. Build the Militia and Self-Defense Force according to the motto "strong and widespread"; Organize the Militia and Self-Defense Force well to participate in the fight against and refute erroneous, hostile and anti-Party and anti-military viewpoints.

The President requested the Militia and Self-Defense Force to proactively grasp the situation, coordinate well with other forces to firmly protect the border, sea and islands, maintain political security in localities; actively propagate and mobilize people to comply with the Party's guidelines and the State's laws and policies, contributing with the entire Party, the entire army and the entire people to firmly protect the Vietnamese Fatherland, bringing the country firmly into a new era.

On the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the Militia and Self-Defense Force's Traditional Day (March 28, 1935 - March 28, 2025), the Party and State awarded the Ho Chi Minh Medal to the Vietnam Militia and Self- Defense Force.
