Judo brings home 2 national gold medals

On the afternoon of April 2, Mr. Huynh Ngoc Tam - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that the Binh Thuan Judo athlete team brought home 2 gold medals, 1 silver medal and 2 bronze medals at the 2024 National Judo Club Championship held in Bac Ninh.

Taking place from March 28 to April 2, with nearly 220 athletes from 25 provinces and cities across the country. Of which, 2 gold medals of Binh Thuan belong to athlete Nguyen Thanh Hoan in the men's 66 kg weight class and Nguyen Nhac Nhu An in the women's 48 kg weight class . The silver medal belongs to athlete Le Thi My Hien in the women's 48 kg weight class . The bronze medal belongs to athlete Nguyen Van Tinh in the men 's 60 kg weight class and the bronze medal in the men's team event includes : Phan Ngo Truong Kha; Nguyen Van Tinh; Dang Thanh Thuan; Le Truong Vu; Phan Ngoc Vinh.

The Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism also added: Binh Thuan mainly has young athletes participating but they have made great efforts and achieved very positive results. With this young force being invested in, it is hoped that at the 10th National Sports Festival in 2026, the Judo team will conquer many new achievements.

In the end, Binh Thuan 1 team ranked 5/28 in the total medal tally , while Ho Chi Minh City 1 excellently won first place overall with 4 gold medals, 2 silver medals and 4 bronze medals; Ba Ria - Vung Tau ranked second overall with 3 gold medals, 3 bronze medals and Dong Thap 1 ranked third overall with 2 gold medals, 2 silver medals and 2 bronze medals.
