According to documents from the Quang Trung Museum, in 1990, during the process of renovating the fields, people discovered the stele buried in the ground, about 6 meters north of the ancient tomb in Phu Lac village. Binh Dinh Provincial Museum coordinated with Quang Trung Museum to excavate, research the origin of the stele and put it on display at the Quang Trung Museum.

The above tombstone is carved on a stone block weighing about 200 - 250 kg, 125 cm high, 69 cm wide, 13 cm thick. The foot of the stele has a mortise inserted into the stone base of the tomb. The surface of the stele is engraved with 3 lines of Chinese characters. The large line in the middle "Viet co hoang hien to khao cuong nghi mou luoc minh triet cong chi lang" is translated as: Tomb of the deceased grandfather of the king of Viet, he was a wise, steadfast, and resourceful person. In which, the words "Viet co hoang hien to khao" have traces of being erased. The line on the left "Tue thu Ky Hoi trong xuan coc nhat" is translated as: Auspicious day in February of the year Ky Hoi. The line on the right "Ngu che" means: The king established.

The ancient tomb is located in the north-south direction, made of lime, 1.6 m long, with an inner and outer wall with a distance of 60 cm and about 4 - 5 m from the tomb there are traces of a third wall. The location of the tomb is about 200 m southeast of Go Lang relic (the old garden of Mr. and Mrs. Ho Phi Phuc, the father of the three Tay Son heroes: Nguyen Nhac, Nguyen Hue, Nguyen Lu).

From the tombstone along with the family tree and historical events of the Tay Son dynasty, researchers determined that this was the tomb of the grandfather of the Tay Son brothers, namely Ho Phi Tien. After ascending the throne, in February 1779 (the year of the Pig), Emperor Thai Duc - Nguyen Nhac of the Tay Son dynasty renovated the ancestral graves in his hometown of Phu Lac, building his grandfather's tomb (hien to khao). After the Tay Son dynasty fell, many relics of the Tay Son three brothers' family were leveled. The tombstone of the grandfather of the Tay Son three brothers had some of the main characters carved out and was removed and buried in front of the tomb with the purpose of concealing the Nguyen dynasty government.

The tomb of the Tay Son Tam Kiet ancestors was recognized as a provincial-level relic by the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province in 2012.
