According to the official, during a conference of Israeli leaders, the country's intelligence agencies admitted to misjudging the scale and military activities of Hamas under the Shifa hospital in the northern Gaza Strip.
Israeli officials asserted that the removal of leader Sinwar could change Hamas's move to release hostages.
The Israeli army is currently working to pacify the northern Gaza Strip and is preparing to send ground troops into the Khan Yunis and Rafah areas in the south of the territory.
In another development, on the same day, Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva commented that "many innocent Palestinian civilians are paying the price for the war in the Gaza Strip".
The South American country's leader called on the United Nations to intervene and stressed that the only solution to resolve the Israel-Palestine conflict is the establishment of two states.
