According to Tom's Guide , a source has just revealed that the performance of the A18 Pro chip on the iPhone 16 Pro will increase insignificantly compared to the A17 Pro generation.
News revealed by source @ negativeonehero (Nguyen Phi Hung) on X shows that the A18 Pro chip has a performance increase of only 10% compared to the A17 Pro on the iPhone 15 Pro launched last year.
Predictions based on Geekbench performance benchmarking software. Specifically, according to Tom's Guide 's test, the A17 Pro chip's multi-core performance score averaged 7,194 points. If the information from @negativeonehero is correct, the A18 Pro chip will increase by 10%, thus only achieving a performance score of about 7,913 points.
In a recent leak, Notebookcheck reported that the multi-core performance scores of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 and Dimensity 9400 chips reached 10,628 and 11,739 points, respectively. If these rumors are correct, both will far surpass Apple's next chip.
Of course, information based on Geekbench scores is always considered to be far from accurate, as there is no way to verify the results. GeekBench often gives a first look at a device's performance, but the difference between iOS and Android is very difficult to compare.
The two operating systems approach and optimize software and systems differently. As such, real-world performance when using applications and performing daily tasks may not be entirely reflected in pure test scores.

CAD renders provided by 91mobiles ' source show a new button on the right side of the iPhone 16 Pro, which is said to be similar to the shutter button on a professional camera with two stages: a light press to focus and more force to take a photo.
The camera shutter button is located on the same side as the power button, located on the bottom edge of the new iPhone. It will have functions such as adjusting focus and zoom in addition to triggering photo and video capture.

The iPhone 16 series will likely support generative AI, allowing users to interact with chatbots or create text images right on their phones.
