(Dan Tri) - Thanh Oai District (Hanoi) requested to stop organizing auctions for 197 land lots. Customers who have purchased participation documents and paid in advance will have their money refunded.
National Auction Joint Stock Company No. 5 and Vietnam Auction Joint Stock Company have just announced the suspension of the 4th, 5th and 6th auctions in Man Ca, Man Cong, Ma Man Trong areas, Van Quan village, Do Dong commune, Thanh Oai district (Hanoi). The announcement is based on the official dispatch requesting the suspension of auctions for 197 land plots in the above area from the District People's Committee.
According to the plan, 3 sessions with a total of 39 plots of land are expected to be auctioned on December 7, December 14 and December 21. Of which, the 4th session has 19 plots of land with an area of 74-92m2, the 5th session has 24 plots of land with an area of 88-175m2, and the remaining 20 plots of the 6th session have an area of 96-149m2. These lots all have a starting price of 5.3 million VND/m2.
The announcement states that the auctions will be held after the decision of the competent authority. Customers who have purchased the participation documents and paid the deposit should contact the auction organizer for instructions on the procedure to receive the refund of the deposit.

This is not the first time Thanh Oai district has stopped organizing land auctions. Since the end of August, the district has stopped two auctions of 114 plots of land in Cao Duong commune to review legal conditions. In October, Thanh Oai district continued to announce the temporary suspension of auctions of 197 plots in Van Quan village, Do Dong commune.
This move came after the auction of 68 plots of land in Thanh Cao commune caused a stir in public opinion with 4,600 applications participating, the winning price was pushed up to 100 million VND/m2, 8 times higher than the starting price. However, 80% of the winning lots in this auction have forfeited their deposits, including the plot of land with the winning price of 100 million VND/m2.
Most recently, on November 30, Thanh Oai district (Hanoi) organized an auction of 22 plots of land in Do Dong commune. The plots of land put up for auction have an area of 85-135m2. The starting price for these plots is from 5.3 million VND/m2, corresponding to a deposit of 90.89-143.84 million VND/plot.
Speaking to Dan Tri reporter, Mr. Nguyen Trong Khien - Vice Chairman of Thanh Oai District People's Committee - said that in the 8th round, the highest price was about 70 million VND/m2, but because customers all gave up, the auctioned land lots were all unsuccessful.
"Most of the people participating in multiple rounds of auctions are from real estate offices. After only a few auctions are held, these people will get to know each other and connect with each other. This failed auction will affect the district's budget revenue," Mr. Khien added.
