Cooperatives link with farmers to develop the economy and escape poverty sustainably.

On October 2, at Tay Bac University, the National Agricultural Extension Center, the Central Office for New Rural Area Coordination and Thien Tam Fund - Vingroup Corporation jointly organized a handover ceremony to support and train the project of cooperatives linking with farmers to develop the economy and escape poverty sustainably.

The project of cooperatives linking with farmers to develop the economy and escape poverty sustainably, implemented by Thien Tam Fund and officially put into operation from 2022, with 3 pilot models first deployed in Thai Nguyen and Son La provinces and expanded to 20 models in 2023. After 2 years of implementation, it has been highly appreciated by central agencies, departments, branches, provincial branches and cooperatives, and people for its creativity and breakthrough in helping people escape poverty sustainably.

Representatives of cooperatives receive support money from the Project of Cooperatives linking with farming households to develop the economy and escape poverty sustainably.

In 2024, the project will continue to be implemented in 20 cooperatives in the northern mountainous provinces, Thai Binh province and the cities of Hanoi and Hai Phong. Each cooperative will receive 1 billion VND from Thien Tam Fund to implement the project in association with farming households to develop the economy and escape poverty sustainably. Son La province alone has 4 cooperatives participating in the project and receiving support.

During 3 days (from October 2-4), 60 trainees, who are agricultural extension officers and representatives of cooperatives of provinces and cities participating in the project, were taught by experts from the National Agricultural Extension Center, the Center for Testing and Verification and Quality Services; lecturers from Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry, and the School of Agricultural and Rural Development Management about making and analyzing production and business plans; brand recognition; cooperative management, finance, accounting; pest management in citrus orchards; techniques for cultivating orange and grapefruit trees according to VietGAP and fruit tree technical handbook... In addition, the trainees also visited some typical economic models in Son La province.

The training course helps agricultural extension officers, agricultural workers and cooperatives participating in the project to improve their management and operation capacity and access modern scientific and technological advances in the agricultural sector, contributing to promoting sustainable agricultural development.
