My Thuan Project Management Board has just reported the results of the pre-feasibility study on the investment project to build the Ha Tien - Rach Gia - Bac Lieu expressway to the Ministry of Transport.

Accordingly, the total length of the project is more than 175km, with a scale of 4 lanes and a design speed of 100km/h. Of which, the section through Kien Giang is 82km long, Hau Giang is 18km, Soc Trang is 13km and Bac Lieu is more than 25km long.

The starting point of the expressway is at Ha Tien border gate (Kien Giang province) and the end point connects with National Highway 1 in Bac Lieu city area (Bac Lieu province).

The total investment of the project is about 80,836 billion VND from the state budget, expected to start construction in 2026 and complete in 2030.

The My Thuan Project Management Board said that the above project connects with the vertical expressways (Lo Te - Rach Soi and Can Tho - Ca Mau) to enhance the trade of goods through the Ha Tien international border gate, the Cambodian border area with the Mekong Delta provinces; making an important contribution to socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security.

Currently, in the Mekong Delta region, the Ministry of Transport is implementing 9 important national transport projects, with a total investment of about 106,000 billion VND, of which 8/9 projects are under construction.
