On the morning of January 4, Ho Chi Minh City University of Law organized the program "One day as a Law student". Hundreds of students participated in experiencing a day of school as a law student.

Students wake up at 4am to experience being a law student

Talking to students participating in the program, Associate Professor Dr. Tran Viet Dung - Vice Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Law - said that this is an annual activity organized by the school to create conditions for high school students to experience and directly learn about the school, learning environment...

Present early in the morning at Ho Chi Minh City University of Law, Hong Phuong, a student at Tri Thuc High School (Dong Nai), shared: "I woke up at 4am to travel from Dong Nai to Ho Chi Minh City to participate in the program. I have researched and planned to apply to Ho Chi Minh City University of Law, so I came here today to learn more about the school's international commercial law major."

Answering many questions from students about job opportunities after graduation and how to find a suitable job, Mr. Nguyen Thanh An - Head of the school's Communications and Business Relations Department - advised students to understand themselves, determine their own needs to be able to plan their future and choose the right major.

"During the learning process, in addition to professional knowledge, it is necessary to equip soft skills. Because knowledge only accounts for 40%, while skills, especially soft skills such as adapting to the working environment, teamwork skills, critical thinking, and computer science, foreign languages, etc. account for 60% when looking for a job.

Increase enrollment quota, enroll in 3 methods, open new majors

Sharing with students about the enrollment direction in 2025, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Viet Dung added: "With the goal of becoming a multidisciplinary and multi-field university, in 2025, Ho Chi Minh City University of Law will increase its training scale in both quantity and quality. The school will increase its enrollment target to 4,000 students, and plans to open a number of new majors such as international business, finance - banking...".

According to Master Vu Dinh Le - Deputy Director in charge of the Admissions Consulting Department of Ho Chi Minh City University of Law, in 2025 the school plans to enroll students in 3 ways:

Method 1 : Direct admission, direct admission and priority admission according to the university admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and the school's admission regulations.

Method 2 : Admission based on the school's admission plan, including 4 subjects:

Subject 1: Candidates studying at international high schools who meet the following conditions:

- Condition 1: Graduated from international high schools and awarded a high school diploma by foreign educational institutions (this diploma must be recognized as equivalent to the training level according to the high school education program in Vietnam according to regulations);

- Condition 2: Have an international language certificate IELTS with a score of 6.5 or higher issued by the British Council (BC) or International Development Program (IDP);

Subject 2: Candidates with international language certificates or US SAT exam results, meeting all the following conditions:

- Condition 1: Candidates have an international language certificate (English, French, or Japanese) or have SAT exam results, achieving the following scores:

+ For English: IELTS score of 5.5 or higher (issued by British Council (BC) or International Development Program (IDP); or TOEFL iBT score of 65 or higher (issued by Educational Testing Service (ETS);

+ For French (only for law majors): DELF certificate with level B1 or higher or TCF certificate with score of 300 or higher/skill or higher. These two types of certificates must be issued by the International Pedagogical Research Center (Centre International d'Etudes Pedagogiques - CIEP);

+ For Japanese (only for law majors): JLPT certificate at level N3 or higher (issued by the Japan Foundation (JF), in the Japanese language proficiency test);

+ For candidates using the US SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) scores: Score 1,150/1,600 points or higher.

- Condition 2: The total average score of 6 semesters of high school (grades 10, 11 and 12) of 3 subjects in the group of subjects for admission is from 22.5 or higher (this total average score is rounded to one decimal place).

Subject 3: Candidates are students studying at schools listed in the "List of high schools with priority for admission in 2024 of Ho Chi Minh City National University", meeting the following conditions:

- Condition 1: Study for 3 years at schools listed above;

- Condition 2: Have good academic results in grades 10, 11 and 12 and the average score of 6 semesters of high school for 3 subjects in the registered admission group has a total score of 24.5 or higher (this total average score is rounded to one decimal place).

Subject 4: Admission based on V-SAT assessment test results.

Method 3: Admission based on high school graduation exam results in 2025 according to the general plan of the Ministry of Education and Training.
