The event was also attended by many teachers and parents – those who are accompanying the children in this important stage of their learning journey and future orientation.

Career thinking - indispensable luggage

In the context of comprehensive general education reform, 2025 marks the first national high school exam organized according to the 2018 General Education Program. This not only changes the way of learning and testing but also sets new requirements for career guidance. Choosing a career is no longer a temporary decision in grade 12, but needs to be built early with the support of family, school and society.

Speaking at the program, journalist Ngo Vuong Tuan - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Tuoi Tre Thu Do Newspaper - emphasized: "Career guidance is not only about choosing a major and a school, but also about shaping the future. It is a journey for each student to better understand themselves, explore the vast world of careers and be ready to step into life with a proactive and confident mindset."

He also shared about the development of Thanh Tri district – a land that is strongly transforming from a traditional suburban area to a dynamic economic area of the capital. According to him, this transformation is creating a great demand for high-quality human resources – young people who are not only knowledgeable but also adaptable, creative and willing to learn continuously.

Students ask questions to experts.

Opportunity to meet and hear from real people, real events

This year’s consultation program is designed for students to directly interact with experts and representatives of major universities. The experts not only update the 2025 enrollment plan but also provide a realistic perspective on the labor market and the requirements of each profession.

Students had specific answers to their concerns about their major, training school, job opportunities after graduation as well as milestones to consider when applying to university. In particular, many practical shares were given from the professional experiences of experts, helping students visualize more clearly the path they will take.

Along with the main stage consultation session, the admission booth area also attracted a large number of students. This is where universities and colleges introduced details about training programs, tuition fees, scholarships, learning environments as well as student support activities. Many students had direct access to information from the schools for the first time, making choosing a major easier and more practical.

Answering students' questions, Senior Expert of the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Training Hoang Thuy Nga, said: The university admission regulations in 2025 have many new points. The first point is that there will be no early admission. This does not affect students' admission because early admission only helps students determine whether they can pass those schools.

The second new point is that training institutions using high school results must have grade 12 results. Third, institutions using foreign language certificates must convert points, due to the input results and training capacity of the institutions. Fourth, students wishing to study at college are allowed to register on the information portal of the Ministry of Education and Training. For training institutions, the bonus points, priority points, and total bonus points must not exceed 10% of the maximum score.

Senior expert of the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Training Hoang Thuy Nga also said that to choose the desired school, students must understand what they like, choose a major, and then choose a school. They must carefully research admission information, input and output standards, and meet their own abilities, family finances, and social development trends.

“Success is not about what major or school you study, but about your ability to study. Whether you succeed or not depends on your own efforts,” Ms. Hoang Thuy Nga advised students.

For more information about the admission regulations, Dr. Dao Truong Thanh, Head of the Department of Training Management and Student Affairs, Hanoi Capital University, said: Hanoi Capital University combines 5 admission methods, including a new method of admission based on the results of the competency assessment test organized by Hanoi National University of Education in 2025.

In 2025, Hanoi Capital University will also enroll 3 new majors, 2 majors in the pedagogical group: Information Technology Pedagogy and English Pedagogy; and Economic Management.

Sowing dreams from a changing land

From a suburban area with traditional craft villages and famous clean vegetable growing areas, Thanh Tri is transforming itself day by day to become the development center of the South of Hanoi. In that context, improving the quality of young human resources becomes a key factor.

Journalist Ngo Vuong Tuan affirmed: “We organize the career counseling program not only with the responsibility of communication, but also with the spirit of accompanying and sharing with the young generation. Every right choice today will be a solid foundation for tomorrow's journey.”

Many students after the program found more confidence, motivation and clarity in their future direction. Nguyen Dinh Quan, a student at Hoang Van Thu High School, shared: “I used to hesitate between going to university or vocational school. Through today's program, I understand that each path has its own value, the important thing is to clearly understand your passion and ability.”

As the mouthpiece of the youth, over the years, the Capital Youth Newspaper has constantly innovated and expanded its activities to accompany young people, from creative playgrounds, cultural and sports competitions to highly oriented career counseling programs.

The 2025 Career Counseling and Dialogue Program in Thanh Tri has come to an end, but the values it brings will certainly remain in each student for a long time. It is the awakening of responsibility for one's own future, the inspiration from those who have gone before, and the knowledge that helps students confidently embark on a new journey - the journey of establishing themselves and their careers in a world full of opportunities but also many challenges.
