On the morning of November 8, the Vietnam Civil Servants' Trade Union held a conference on "Studying and implementing the Resolution of the 6th Congress of Vietnam Civil Servants' Trade Union, term 2023 - 2028" at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Office Hall, No. 2 Le Quang Dao, Hanoi. The conference was attended by nearly 1,000 delegates.

In his opening speech, Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, President of the Vietnam Civil Servants' Trade Union, said: "After more than a month of the 6th Congress of the Vietnam Civil Servants' Trade Union, the Vietnam Civil Servants' Trade Union organized a conference to study and disseminate the Resolution with two contents: Disseminating and implementing the Resolution of the 6th Congress of the Vietnam Civil Servants' Trade Union, term 2023 - 2028; Some necessary skills of trade union officials".
In his report at the Conference, Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu emphasized, “These are the basic contents in the coming term so that the activities of the Vietnam Civil Servants' Trade Union go into depth, with many practical activities to care for and protect the rights of union members and promote the policy advisory role of trade union organizations of ministries, branches and sectors”.
During the 2018-2023 term, the Vietnam Civil Servants' Trade Union has performed well its task of representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers. This task has been widely deployed, achieving many outstanding results. Activities to care for the material and spiritual lives of union members and workers have achieved outstanding results, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Chairman of the Vietnam Civil Servants' Trade Union said that trade unions at all levels have promptly encouraged and visited union members in difficulty and those infected with COVID-19; supported 45 billion VND for more than 30,000 union members and workers; built and handed over 650 union shelters and gratitude houses; implemented the program of signing cooperation agreements with 80 partners, providing quality goods and services at preferential prices for union members and workers.

Vietnam Civil Servants' Trade Unions at all levels have mobilized professional resources, increased socialization, and increased the amount of care and support for beneficiaries during the term to 315 billion VND for tens of thousands of beneficiaries.
Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu emphasized that the tradition of social activities of the trade unions at all levels continues to be promoted. Union members and workers have contributed and supported nearly 230 billion VND to social activities; supported and cared for more than 100 heroic Vietnamese mothers; tens of thousands of union members donated blood, collecting 27,775 units of blood.
In addition, propaganda and education work has many innovations, contributing to raising awareness and trust of union members and workers; The union has done a good job of mobilizing and encouraging union members and workers to perform professional tasks, launching and implementing effective and practical emulation movements.
During the 2023-2028 term, the Vietnam Civil Servants' Trade Union strives to develop 1,000 new union members; At least 90% of enterprises and units with union organizations that are qualified to represent, negotiate, and sign collective labor agreements; At least 90% of union members' cases requiring labor dispute resolution at the Court will have union representatives participating or receiving support; At least 70% of union members and workers will participate in training and improve their professional skills; 90% of female civil servants, public employees, and workers will achieve the title "Good at public work, good at home".
Therefore, the Vietnam Civil Servants' Trade Union focuses on performing well the tasks of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers. Improve the effectiveness of propaganda and education work, contributing to building a team of cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers who meet the requirements and tasks; Do a good job of mobilizing, encouraging, and motivating union members and workers to fulfill their professional tasks, innovate the organization of patriotic emulation movements, and improve the effectiveness of reward work; Build a strong and comprehensive union organization; participate in building a clean and strong Party and political system; Improve the effectiveness of the movement of female cadres, civil servants, public employees, and women's work; Strengthen inspection and supervision work to contribute to building a strong union organization; Focus on building a strong enough financial resource to perform well the functions and tasks of the union organization; Innovate operating methods and leadership and management to meet the requirements of the new situation.
