This morning, February 24, the Quang Tri Department of Health solemnly held the 70th Anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors' Day, February 27 (1955-2025) and the Patriotic Emulation Congress of the Quang Tri Health Sector for the period 2025-2030. Speaking at the ceremony, Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong affirmed that since the COVID-19 pandemic appeared, Quang Tri has faced many unprecedented difficulties and challenges. The image of the "white-shirt soldiers" in this silent war who had to put aside all privacy, accept personal sacrifices, and wholeheartedly and thoughtfully care for the sick is the most authentic proof, the most typical image and the best quality of "A good doctor must be like a mother".
With sincere thanks and praise for the outstanding collectives and individuals, the advanced models of the provincial health sector who have been, are and always are wholeheartedly and fully contributing to the noble cause of caring for and protecting the health and lives of the people, Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong suggested that in the coming time, the patriotic emulation movement of the health sector needs to continue to innovate, have clear goals, truly become a driving force for each individual and unit, mobilize the combined strength of the political system, the support of the people to contribute to the common achievements of the whole sector as well as spread the image of "Doctors are like kind mothers" in society.

The 70th anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors' Day and the Patriotic Emulation Congress of the Quang Tri Health Sector for the period 2025 - 2030 is an occasion to honor and express gratitude to generations of cadres, doctors and staff in the health sector.
Therefore, each physician, officer, and employee of the provincial health sector should always be a shining example of striving, training, improving their expertise and professional ethics in order to build a team of doctors "Bright in medical ethics, good in medical skills" worthy of the trust of patients and people in the area. In the context of many difficulties in the province, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, all levels and sectors always prioritize investing large resources in developing a system of care, protection and improvement of people's health.
On this occasion, Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong requested that Party committees at all levels, authorities, socio-political organizations and all people support and join hands so that the health sector can fulfill its glorious and extremely heavy mission of caring for and protecting the health and lives of the people.

Opening the 70th Anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors' Day and the Patriotic Emulation Congress of the Quang Tri Health Sector for the period 2025-2030, Director of the Department of Health Do Van Hung stated: Since the early days of the province's re-establishment, the Quang Tri health sector has made continuous efforts to ensure health care for the people, gradually stabilizing the organizational structure and facilities, laying the foundation for the future development of the health sector. Up to now, many health indicators on medical examination and treatment; preventive medicine; food safety; and population assigned in the annual socio-economic development plan have all been successfully implemented.

In particular, in the period of 2020 - 2025, the Quang Tri health sector achieved many outstanding results, such as: the province achieved many successes and became a "bright spot" in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic; developing the health system, improving the quality of public health facilities to meet the needs of people's health care, improving the quality of the population in the province. The medium-term public investment budget for the health sector in the period of 2020-2025 reached 850 billion VND.
On that basis, medical facilities from the provincial to grassroots levels have been invested in facilities and equipment in a synchronous and strategic manner; at the same time, the sector has also focused on gradually developing human resources to meet the needs of people's health care, creating momentum for the development of the health sector. Provincial and district hospitals focus on developing new and more advanced technical services.

In particular, the Provincial General Hospital has developed many high-tech, specialized services such as cardiovascular intervention, oncology, orthopedic trauma, functional testing... modern and on par with major hospitals nationwide. With achievements in medical examination and treatment, it has contributed to bringing quality treatment and care services closer to the people, reducing the number of patients with serious and incurable diseases who have to be transferred to the central level, reducing costs for patients.
In the era of national development and the digital age, the Quang Tri health sector continues to focus on administrative reform and digital transformation, contributing to improving the health sector's effectiveness and efficiency in management; modernizing medical examination and treatment; facilitating people in carrying out administrative procedures in the health sector, improving the quality of health protection and care for people.

The 2025-2030 Patriotic Emulation Congress of the Quang Tri health sector launched a patriotic emulation movement with 7 key contents.

On this occasion, the President awarded the title of Meritorious Physician to 5 individuals, the Third Class Labor Medal to 2 individuals with outstanding achievements from 2019-2023; the Prime Minister awarded emulation flags to 2 collectives with outstanding achievements leading the patriotic emulation movement in 2023, certificates of merit to 2 collectives and 6 individuals with achievements in work from 2019-2023; the Provincial People's Committee awarded emulation flags to the Department of Health for excellently completing its tasks, leading the emulation movement in 2024 and awarded certificates of merit to 70 individuals of the Quang Tri health sector with outstanding achievements.
