Every year in late October and early November, when the rice in the terraced fields begins to ripen on the mountain slopes of the Northeast, the Golden Harvest Festival is also held.
In Binh Lieu, the Golden Season Festival took place with a series of rich activities over a longer period of time and in a larger space, starting with the opening program of the Binh Lieu District Cultural Tourism Week 2024, which was very special. The art program in the opening ceremony had the participation of nearly 200 actors, including professional artists, actors, folk artists, and extras. The performances led the audience to stories about cultural values, tourism products, unique cuisine, festival activities, culture, and sports of ethnic minorities, spreading the message about the history and culture of the land and people of Binh Lieu to friends, domestic and international tourists.
Despite the relatively short rehearsal time, the team of directors, choreographers, actors and artists have tried their best to participate in the rehearsal with the highest spirit. Meritorious Artist Hoang Thi Vien, a Tay ethnic in Na Lang area, Binh Lieu town, shared: "I feel very happy and proud to participate in the performance in the program. Before that, I and other actors tried to arrange family work, participate in rehearsal to bring unique, good and attractive performances for the opening night."
After the opening ceremony, the series of activities of the Golden Season Festival will continue to be extended with attractive activities, taking place throughout October and November, such as: Experiencing the "New Rice Celebration", reenacting the coronation ceremony in the Luc Na Communal House Festival on stage, the Women's Football Tournament of Quang Ninh Province's Ethnic Groups, the Sports Competition of Quang Ninh Province's Ethnic Minorities, the Mountain Climbing Competition to Conquer "Dinosaur's Back" or the "Flying Over the Golden Season" paragliding festival, experiencing Then singing and Tinh lute singing of the Tay people, San Co singing of the Thanh Phan Dao people...
The ripe rice season is considered the most beautiful season of the year because of the yellow color of the terraced fields, which is not only a beautiful landscape but also a sign of prosperity. Along with that, the beautiful weather, cool at night and early morning, cool during the day helps visitors feel more comfortable. Therefore, from the end of October to the beginning of November every year, when the weather starts to get cold, which is also the time of ripe rice season, Binh Lieu district organizes the Golden Season Festival as a solution to promote the image of nature, culture, and people of Binh Lieu, stimulating tourism. Mr. Nguyen Ha Hai, Director of Hon Gai Tourism and Service Joint Stock Company, commented: "Tourists want to come to places with natural and cultural beauty. Every year the program is more profound and more magnificent. I think that Binh Lieu can fully exploit these products".
Compared to Binh Lieu, the Golden Season Festival in Tien Yen is smaller in scale because the San Chi people live concentrated in Dai Duc commune. In Dai Duc, the Golden Season Festival welcomes visitors to check in and admire the golden terraced fields, listen to the immense Soong co melody, watch the reenactment of San Chi ethnic beliefs and customs, "Plant praying ceremony", participate in ethnic sports competitions, cheer for San Chi women's football friendly matches, experience community tourism in brick houses, watch Tac Xinh dance of the San Chay people (including 2 groups San Chi and Cao Lan), play tops...
In general, the Golden Season Festival in Binh Lieu and Tien Yen always has a harmonious combination of tradition and contemporary, both bringing the beauty of nature and the good traditional cultural values, unique customs of the ethnic groups. The Golden Season Festival expresses pride in the natural landscape, spreads love for the homeland and country, praises the spirit of hard work, creativity and traditional education of ancestors, the spirit of solidarity in the community, preserving, conserving and promoting traditional cultural values. This series of cultural events not only shows prosperity but also creates potential for tourism and economic development and improves people's lives.
