Da Nang students happily enter the new school year 2024-2025

In the 2024-2025 school year with the theme: "Discipline, responsibility, continuous innovation, quality improvement", the entire education and training sector of Da Nang city will carry out preparations for the new school year under the direction of the People's Committee of Da Nang city.

Implement solutions to strengthen State management responsibilities to properly implement regulations on financial revenue and expenditure management, publicize revenue and expenditure from the beginning of the school year; on the selection, supply, and use of local textbooks, educational materials, and reference materials.

Continue to improve institutions, enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of state management of education; Ensure fairness in access to education for all subjects, including attention to ethnic minorities, people living in mountainous areas, areas with particularly difficult socio-economic conditions, coastal and island areas, orphans, homeless children, people with disabilities, people from poor and near-poor households.

Improve the quality of preschool education, general education and continuing education.

Effectively implement the General Education Program for all classes, especially for grades 5, 9, and 12; enhance innovation in teaching methods and positive assessment and testing in the direction of developing students' qualities and abilities. Promote proactiveness and flexibility in implementing the school's educational program and the autonomy and creativity of professional groups and teachers.

Up to now, the whole city of Da Nang has 393 educational institutions; of which: there are 197 preschools (127 non-public schools) with 66,549 children; 99 primary schools (2 non-public schools), 106,517 students; 60 secondary schools (2 non-public schools), 76,233 students; 34 high schools (12 non-public schools), 38,061 students; 3 continuing education centers with 5,320 students.

The 2024-2025 school year is the fourth consecutive year that Da Nang city has exempted tuition fees for preschool children and primary school students.

Specifically, Da Nang will support 100% of tuition fees for public preschool and general education for 9 months of the 2024-2025 school year. Support 100% of tuition fees for students studying high school cultural knowledge and general education programs in public and private vocational education institutions for up to nine months of the 2024-2025 school year.

Subjects eligible for tuition fee reduction according to the policies of the Central Government and the City will be compensated with 100% of the tuition fees for public preschool and general education in the 2024-2025 school year. The city budget will support 100% of the tuition fees determined by the City People's Council. The total estimated support cost is more than 108 billion VND.
