What profession to study and where to work with a salary of at least 100 million VND/month?

A parent asked about studying nursing to be able to work abroad, and was answered by experts at an online consultation program organized by Thanh Nien Newspaper on the afternoon of June 22 with the topic "Options for students not entering public grade 10".

"I heard that studying nursing can help me work abroad. What are the specifics of this program? Are there any requirements?" asked Ms. Ngo Hai Chau, a parent in District 12, Ho Chi Minh City.

Answering this question, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Phung, head teacher of the high school section of Ho Chi Minh City International College, said: "The school has signed contracts with major hospitals in the city such as Nhi Dong 1, Nhi Dong 2, Nhi Dong Thanh Pho, Trauma and Orthopedics... to send nursing students to practice. Immediately after graduation, they will be accepted to work at the hospitals."

Not only Vietnam but many countries also lack nursing human resources.

According to Ms. Phung, not only Vietnam is in great need of nursing personnel, but many countries in the world such as Germany, Japan, Australia, Singapore... are also in shortage. Therefore, the opportunity for graduates in this field to work abroad is very large.

"The school also combines teaching Japanese and German to create conditions for students to work abroad. In addition, some Australian corporations have signed contracts with the school to order nursing training according to their programs. After completing their studies, students will go to Australia to work with a starting salary of no less than 100 million VND/month," Ms. Kim Phung informed.

Is it hard to work after studying engineering?

Meanwhile, parent Huynh Van Tuoc, Phu Nhuan District (HCMC), wondered: "My child likes machinery and engineering. Will studying engineering make his future job difficult or not? Can teachers advise him on which major he should study to have the least hardship and make it easier to find a job?"

Master Nguyen Thanh Nhon, Director of the Admissions and Communications Center of Saigon Polytechnic College, said that with the vocational system for junior high school graduates, many students choose majors related to machinery and engineering.

Studying automotive engineering technology can also choose to work in showrooms.

"The school has majors in automotive engineering technology, mechanical engineering technology, electrical-electronic engineering technology, mechatronics, refrigeration and air conditioning engineering. Currently, there are many job positions for each profession, including positions and environments that are not at all difficult. For example, after studying automotive technology, students can choose to work at car showrooms, car decoration, or in the refrigeration industry, they can open a store specializing in selling electronic refrigeration, doing warranty work for brands...", Mr. Nhon shared.

Duong Phuong Nghi, a student in Tan Binh District (HCMC) asked: "I am a cheerful person, I like to cheer up but I am not tall so I do not feel confident. So can I study tour guide? What are the job opportunities in this field?"

Master Tran Phuong, Principal of Viet Giao Secondary School, answered: "There are two majors that you can register for: tour guide and entertainment service management and event organization. If you study to be a tour guide, you can still work in an office at a travel agency, a tourism commercial office... Meanwhile, entertainment service management and event organization will help you become a communicator, develop shows, organize performances, build content and scripts for events...".

According to Master Tran Phuong, all majors at the intermediate level, after students graduate and complete the amount of high school cultural knowledge prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training, students can transfer to colleges and universities.
