On January 31, Dong Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district held an auction for land use rights. According to observations, in contrast to the quiet atmosphere before, this time it was quite lively, with auction participants sitting almost full of the hall.
The auction was conducted in the form of indirect auction with the ascending price method. 14 plots of land in the Xeo Co Long Nam planning area were auctioned, with 64 applications participating. Of which, 10 plots were successfully auctioned worth 7.8 billion VND, 1 plot was invalidly auctioned, and 3 plots did not submit applications.
Accordingly, the average starting price of row 2 is 560 million VND/lot, after auction it reaches 930 million VND/lot. Particularly, a plot of land located in row 1 next to Highway 48E has a starting price of 1.2 billion VND/lot, after auction it reaches 1.9 billion VND/lot.
Some people participating in the land auction shared: At the end of the year, there is a source of money sent home by children working abroad, while savings in the bank have low interest rates, so they boldly invest in real estate.

Mr. Ngo Van Tuan, Chairman of Dong Thanh Commune People's Committee, said: After a long period of land auctions with few participants, the recent auction was very successful. In 2024, the commune will continue to auction over 40 plots of land in the planning area.
A representative of the People's Committee of Yen Thanh district said: From the beginning of 2024 until now, Yen Thanh district has successfully auctioned 31 lots out of 46 lots in 3 communes of Minh Thanh, Vien Thanh, Dong Thanh. From now until the end of 2024, the district will auction over 150 more land lots.

Although the real estate market still faces many difficulties, land auctions are still of interest in areas with clear legal status, complete infrastructure investment, close to central areas, densely populated areas, and reasonable prices. In addition, the amount of remittances sent home during the Tet holiday is quite large, while bank interest rates are currently not high, so many people still choose to invest in real estate.
