The 500kV 3-circuit line project from Nam Dinh 1 Thermal Power Plant to Pho Noi has a length of about 127km, passing through the provinces of Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Hai Duong and Hung Yen.

At 5:30 p.m. on August 19, the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), the Northern Power Project Management Board (NPMB) coordinated with relevant units to successfully energize 2 circuits of the 500kV line project, circuit 3, section of Nam Dinh 1-Pho Noi Thermal Power Plant, meeting the direction of the Prime Minister.
Circuit 1 completed at 16:26 and circuit 2 completed at 17:30.
The 500kV Nam Dinh 1-Pho Noi Thermal Power Plant transmission line project is invested by EVNNPT, managed by NPMB, and operated by Power Transmission Company 1.
The project is approximately 127km long, passing through the provinces of Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Hai Duong and Hung Yen. The project has 334 foundation locations, with 144 corridor anchorages.
The project was implemented from January 18, 2024 and was approved by the Investor-level Acceptance Council on August 16, 2024 to be energized.
Under the direction of the Prime Minister, the power line must be completed to celebrate the 79th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2.
The project, once completed, will help reduce the load and avoid overloading of existing 500kV lines. The line will also help increase the stable transmission reserve on the North-Central interface, combined with the Quang Trach-Quynh Luu-Thanh Hoa-Nam Dinh 1 500kV Line sections, contributing to supplementing capacity from power sources in the North Central region to the load center in the North.
During the implementation process, the project has always received the attention and direction of the Prime Minister, ministries, branches, and leaders of Vietnam Electricity Group. Along with that is the support of authorities at all levels where the project passes through, the consensus and joint efforts of the people who have given up land for the project, and participated in supporting the construction of the foundation excavation phase.

According to EVNNPT leaders, in addition to favorable factors, the project implementation process encountered many difficulties and challenges due to densely populated areas, difficult construction roads; passing through many areas specializing in growing ornamental plants with high economic value, so compensation agreements took a long time.
The project passes through many areas of lakes, fields, and large rivers, so the geology is weak and requires the construction of many pile foundations (with 109 pile foundation locations). The pile length is about 500,000 meters.
In addition, due to the many anchorages, there are many double-column positions, so construction takes more time. The line has up to 4 pole positions 145 meters high (the entire line 3 has 7 positions), weighing more than 400 tons. These are river crossings, construction encounters many difficulties due to rain and wind conditions.
Along with that, the steel production volume is very large while the progress required in a short time, risk assessment exceeds the capacity of manufacturers. EVNNPT together with NPMB and contractors have worked hard, implementing specific solutions to speed up production progress.
However, seriously implementing the Prime Minister's direction with the spirit of "only discussing work, no retreating", "overcoming the sun, overcoming the rain", working "3 shifts, 4 shifts", "eating quickly, sleeping urgently", the engineers and workers of the units worked with the highest spirit and responsibility to bring the project to the finish line on time.
EVNNPT leaders said that in order to meet the progress as directed by the Prime Minister, in a short period of time, many work items were deployed simultaneously such as construction and installation, pole erection, wire pulling, positioning frame installation, technical calibration. Therefore, in addition to the main force of EVNNPT units and construction and installation contractors, EVN called on and mobilized 5 Power Corporations to participate in supporting the construction with a large number of qualified, experienced and skilled workers.
With the importance of the project, not only for EVNNPT, EVN's power units and other units have shown high spirit and responsibility by participating in enthusiastic support, making great efforts, not afraid of difficulties and hardships.

Along with that, EVN also received construction human resource support from Viettel Group, Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group, Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group... to participate in supporting the construction of poles and pulling wires for the projects.
At the same time, implementing the direction of the Prime Minister, the provincial youth unions where the projects pass through have coordinated with EVN/EVNNPT to establish teams with thousands of volunteer youth union members. The focus is to work with local authorities to propagate and mobilize people to hand over the route corridor; support the demolition of houses and cutting down trees in the corridor; support traffic regulation when pulling wires across traffic overpasses; encourage and give gifts to boost the spirit of workers at the construction site.
The completion and energization of the project meeting the requirements and directions of the Prime Minister is a great motivation for the entire construction site of the 500kV line 3 project to complete acceptance and inauguration in the coming days according to the direction of the Prime Minister./.
