Mr. Pham Le Ngoc Chau said that currently, in the broadband market in Vietnam, MediaTek accounts for nearly 100% of the company's Wifi chipset supply on ONT converters (terminals located at customers' homes to provide services such as Internet, IPTV, VOIP) and Wifi Mesh systems of three major carriers: VNPT, Viettel and FPT. At the same time, the company is supporting carriers to switch from Wifi 5 to Wifi 6 and will soon add Wifi 7.

In addition, MediaTek is also supporting network operators in commercializing 5G by bringing 5G smartphone products in many segments to the Vietnamese market; In the upcoming roadmap to cut 2G and 3G waves, the company also supports bringing 4G smartphones at good prices to serve domestic users.

A noteworthy information was also given by the MediaTek representative, that in the past time, besides supporting subsidiaries of network operators such as: VNPT Technology of VNPT or Viettel Hightech of Viettel, producing Make in Vietnam products to serve domestic telecommunications networks, MediaTek also supported bringing these products to the international market.

Specifically, with its global sales network, MediaTek will cross-sell these Made in Vietnam products to different markets, supporting the introduction of products to different partners around the world to work together. This is what the company has been doing in the past.

One notable thing is that while in the past, MediaTek chips mainly appeared in mid-range smartphone products, now the company's chips have appeared more and more on high-end devices such as Vivo, Oppo... And MediaTek is becoming one of the top mobile chip suppliers in the world.

MediaTek: Vietnam can join the global semiconductor chip supply chain According to Mr. Daniel Lin, Deputy General Director of Business in emerging markets MediaTek, Vietnam has the opportunity to become an important link in the global semiconductor chip supply chain.
