Laos coach declares he is not afraid of U22 Vietnam at SEA Games 32

Coach Michael Weiss declared he is not afraid of U22 Vietnam at SEA Games 32

In this year's tournament, the team from the land of a million elephants fell into a difficult group with the appearance of 3 giants in the region: U22 Vietnam, U22 Thailand and U22 Malaysia.

However, coach Michael Weiss still appears very confident despite being in the "death group".

“My team fell into the group of death, with champion Vietnam and runner-up Thailand, but I determined that Laos would not come to the 32nd SEA Games to be defeated.

U22 Laos is not afraid of 16-time champions like Thailand or current champions Vietnam because we have confidence and play like warriors.

The coaching staff will have a thorough analysis of the opponents Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia," coach Michael Weiss announced.

To prepare for the 2023 Southeast Asian Games, Mr. Michael Weiss has called up 25 players to join the U22 team.

Notable among these are 3 players playing abroad: Theo Klein (Omaha Mavericks Club, USA), Roman Angot (Bahlinger SC Club, 4th division Germany) and Victor Ngovinassack (Montceau Club, 4th division France).

With such quality personnel additions, the strength of U22 Laos at SEA Games 32 has increased significantly.

However, compared with U22 Vietnam, U22 Thailand, U22 Malaysia or even U22 Singapore, coach Michael Weiss's team is still considered inferior.

In the group stage of SEA Games 32, U22 Laos will face U22 Vietnam (April 30), U22 Malaysia (May 3), U22 Singapore (May 6) and U22 Thailand (May 8).
