(Dan Tri) - After two draws against U22 Korea and U22 Uzbekistan, coach Dinh Hong Vinh said that U22 Vietnam is confident of competing for the championship with host U22 China at the international U22 CFA Team China 2025 tournament.
After drawing 1-1 with strong opponent U22 Korea, U22 Vietnam continued to surprise when drawing 0-0 with U22 Uzbekistan on the evening of March 23, at the international U22 tournament CFA Team China 2025.
With this result, coach Dinh Hong Vinh's team temporarily ranks second on the rankings and has a chance to compete for the championship when they meet host U22 China in the final match on March 25.
Evaluating the match, coach Dinh Hong Vinh praised his players' fighting spirit and progress, saying: "Both opponents were very strong, with good physical and technical foundations, but our players showed confidence and followed the tactics well."
"In the match against U22 Korea, the team played resiliently and at times caused difficulties for the opponent. In the match against U22 Uzbekistan, the players made adjustments, especially in the defensive organization, helping us keep a clean sheet. However, the team still has some points to improve, especially in taking advantage of opportunities in counter-attack situations," said coach Dinh Hong Vinh.
Coach Dinh Hong Vinh commented that Uzbekistan players are a well-organized team, physically strong and possess many technical players. This is a match that helps U22 Vietnam learn a lot.
"We prepared well and the players deployed their play reasonably. The defense played focused, maintained good team distance, and did not leave many gaps for the opponent to exploit. In attack, the team had some opportunities but could not take advantage of them well.
This is something we will continue to improve to achieve higher efficiency in the upcoming matches. Overall, this match was useful, helping U22 Vietnam hone their skills when facing strong Asian teams," coach Dinh Hong Vinh emphasized.
In the final round, U22 Vietnam will meet host U22 China - the team currently leading with 4 points. Commenting on the opponent as well as sharing the preparation plan for the "final" match, Coach Dinh Hong Vinh said that the coaching staff has been watching U22 China compete.
"They are a well-organized team, play disciplined and know how to take advantage of opportunities. They drew 0-0 with U22 Uzbekistan and won 1-0 against U22 Korea, which shows that they have the strength and effective playing style.
The coaching staff will carefully analyze the playing style of U22 China to have the best preparation for the final match. This will certainly be an important match, not only in terms of the result but also to help us more accurately assess the players' abilities in high-pressure situations."
The match between U22 Vietnam and host U22 China will take place at 6:35 p.m. on March 25.
