Source Sonny Dickson has just shared an image of what is believed to be a third-party case for the iPhone 17 Air.

“If you didn’t know about the iPhone 17 Air, you would immediately think this was a Google Pixel case,” Sonny Dickson wrote in a post on X.

Case makers often get design specifications for upcoming iPhone models before they're officially announced, either through partnerships with Apple or direct investigations at manufacturing facilities.

Tracking production trends and prototypes in these areas helps predict design changes.

The upcoming iPhone 17 Air is expected to feature a distinctive camera design with a horizontal camera bar running along the top of the device's back. This design is reminiscent of Google's Pixel line and is a major change from the iPhone's previous camera layout.

Leaked renders show that the camera bar will house a single camera lens on the left side, while the flash is placed in the right corner. The overall minimalist design matches the iPhone 17 Air's ultra-thin body, which is said to be only about 5.5mm thick.

Despite the minimalistic design, the device is still expected to feature MagSafe, an Action button, and a Camera Control button – confirmed by the cutout on the case in the lower left corner.

A report late last week also mentioned that the iPhone 17 Air would have a camera control button, and the prototype models shared by Dickson earlier also reflect this.

In addition, on March 18, Majin Bu also posted on X, citing Mac Otakara (Japan), sharing a series of images related to the new rear camera bar design of the iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max.

Accordingly, 3D printed models of iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max once again confirm the new design with a horizontal rectangular camera bar on the back of the device.

The iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max models show an elongated rectangular rear camera bump that houses three camera lenses, an LED flash, and a microphone. The iPhone 17 Air also uses a horizontal camera bar design but only has a single lens.

Finally, the standard iPhone 17 has the same design as its "predecessor" - the iPhone 16.

According to leaked news, the iPhone 17 Air will have a 6.6-inch ProMotion display with a 120Hz refresh rate, Dynamic Island, standard A19 chip (not A19 Pro), 48MP rear camera, Apple's self-developed C1 modem, and no physical SIM slot.

Meanwhile, sources from The Information said that the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max will have significant design changes: using aluminum frames instead of titanium; half-aluminum, half-glass backs instead of all-glass; rectangular camera clusters...

As usual, Apple will launch a new iPhone in September. The 2025 iPhone models are expected to include: the standard iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max and the ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air.
