The potential of AI in education is huge
At London Technology Week in June 2023, British Chancellor Rishi Sunak said that AI could be used to enhance personalized learning experiences for students. After this statement, the public began to pay attention to the potential of AI in education.
As the Prime Minister shared, AI helps make the learning process more personalized. AI can analyze each student's learning process based on data on study time, scores, level of understanding by lesson, by subject... From there, it can provide learning resources, exercise banks... suitable to the needs as well as the capacity and learning style of each learner. This helps learners learn at a customized pace to promote the learning process effectively.

In addition, AI also provides new learning tools such as chatbots, smart learning systems and virtual teachers. If in the past, learners who did not understand the lesson had to wait until class time to ask the teacher for help, now AI provides instant support, learners can ask questions anytime, anywhere to bring the best learning experience, creating a positive learning environment.
AI technology also enables flexible learning. Learners can access educational materials and lectures remotely through AI-optimized online learning platforms and applications. This opens the door to learning without geographical restrictions, giving learners more autonomy in managing their study time.

Not only does it bring learning potential to students, AI also helps teachers manage and operate their classrooms more effectively. By supporting teachers in creating automatic tests, coming up with lesson ideas, etc. In addition, the AI system also helps teachers evaluate students' learning progress and scores quickly and in detail. From there, teachers can spend more time creating interesting activities in each class, improving the quality of teaching without spending too much time on grading. AI can also help teachers automate many tasks related to books, processes, and paperwork, giving teachers more time for professional work.
Understand AI to use AI effectively
Currently, the application of AI in teaching is being incorporated into the educational program in many countries. For example, South Korea has introduced systems that use AI to adjust homework based on students' learning abilities. In India, the education technology company Embibe uses AI to explain complex scientific and mathematical concepts. In Finland, AI is integrated into the education system through free online courses and instant feedback platforms such as ViLLE…
However, AI also causes "insecurity" for many teachers, parents and education managers about data security and privacy issues, as well as the risk of over-reliance on technology...
However, we also need to understand that applying AI in education is not about replacing teachers with humanoid robots but about applying the outstanding features and capabilities of AI technology to help teachers and students. Therefore, instead of worrying, teachers, students and even parents can learn carefully about AI to use it effectively.
Recently, the Khan Academy Vietnam team has officially completed the localization of the AI for Education course (English name: AI for Education) exclusively for teachers, education administrators as well as parents and students. The AI for Education course is a collaboration between Khan Academy and "giants" and experts in the field of educational technology, including Code.org, Common Sense Education, aiEDU, Professor Ethan and Professor Lilach Mollick,... Through 12 lessons (including 16 videos and 17 theoretical readings), the course provides learners with basic knowledge about artificial intelligence (AI), including concepts, operations, benefits as well as challenges and risks that AI brings to our lives. At the same time, the course provides the necessary knowledge so that teachers and parents can accompany and guide their children or students to apply AI to learning properly and safely through lesson plans and instructions for organizing AI learning activities for students.
In particular, the course is very suitable for teachers as it introduces and provides teachers with methods of applying AI to teaching to create fun, personalized, interactive and engaging experiences, thereby promoting student learning; saving time and reducing work pressure for teachers; thereby, helping teachers to be more confident in navigating in the rapidly changing AI era.
