Hanoi leads the country in the number of OCOP products.

By the end of April 2024, Hanoi continues to maintain its leading position with the largest number of OCOP products with 3 stars or more.

According to the Central Office for New Rural Area Coordination, through the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program, more and more products, specialties, agricultural products, and rural industries have had their potential and strengths of localities awakened. According to information in the Saigon Giai Phong newspaper, by the end of April 2024, 63/63 provinces and cities nationwide had evaluated and classified more than 12,000 OCOP products. Of these, 73.9% of OCOP products achieved 3 stars, 24.7% of OCOP products achieved 4 stars and 42 products achieved 5 stars, the rest had 5- star potential. The Red River Delta is the leading region in the country with 30.7% of the total number of OCOP products in the country. Next is the Mekong Delta (18.3%), the Northern mountainous region (16.8%), and the Southeast region (5.8%). Notably, Hanoi continues to lead in the number of OCOP products achieving 3 stars or more. Accumulated from 2019 to present, Hanoi has evaluated and classified 2,711 products (equal to 89% of the target by the end of 2025 of 3,054 products). Of which, there are 6 5-star products, 12 potential 5-star products, 1,473 4-star products and 1,220 3-star products.

According to Dan Viet newspaper, Hanoi has 47 out of 52 traditional occupations in the country. Currently, the city has 1,350 craft villages, of which 321 traditional craft villages have been recognized. In addition to craft villages, Hanoi also has 1,136 active agricultural cooperatives, 1,695 farms, 149 maintained and developed linkage chains, more than 164 high-tech application models; along with thousands of famous agricultural products. This is the potential to promote rural tourism as well as build and develop OCOP products in the city. In order to develop OCOP products associated with traditional craft villages, in 2023, Hanoi has built models of creative design centers, introducing, promoting and selling OCOP products, craft villages associated with tourism, in the communes: Bat Trang (Gia Lam district), Duyen Thai (Thuong Tin district), Chuyen My (Phu Xuyen district), Phu Nghia (Chuong My district), Duyen Ha (Thanh Tri district), Di Trach (Hoai Duc district), Van Ha (Dong Anh district), Hoa Lam (Ung Hoa district), Van Phuc (Ha Dong district)... Hanoi strives to have 2,000 more OCOP products certified with 3 stars or higher by 2025, of which 3% strive for 5-star potential products; 100% of communes meeting advanced new rural standards have OCOP products; 100% of commercial centers and supermarkets introduce and sell OCOP products...
The OCOP program has increasingly attracted the participation of many economic sectors. Currently, there are 6,542 subjects participating in the evaluation and classification of OCOP products, of which 32.5% are cooperatives, 22% are enterprises, 40.3% are production establishments/business households, and the rest are cooperative groups. According to Dau Tu Newspaper, citing information from the Central Office for New Rural Area Coordination, the OCOP program has affirmed its conformity with Vietnam 's agricultural development orientation. Many localities have issued their own policies to support the development of OCOP products. In particular, the program has aroused the potential and strengths of localities in terms of specialty products and rural industries. In addition, localities have gradually transformed small-scale production into production in the direction of closed value chain linkage, associated with the role of cooperatives, enterprises... According to statistics, the rate of OCOP subjects building stable raw material areas according to OCOP product value chain linkage is 34.6%. At the same time, the program contributes to creating more jobs, promoting the direction of livelihood development in particularly difficult areas and vulnerable groups such as ethnic minorities, women (the rate of OCOP subjects expanding the scale of labor is 34.6%; the rate of female OCOP subjects remains stable at about 40%, the rate of subjects who are ethnic minorities in difficult areas and mountainous areas accounts for 17.1%).
