According to the Hanoi Department of Planning and Investment, in the first 7 months of 2023, the whole city attracted 2,282 million USD of FDI capital, of which 233 new projects were registered with a capital of 97.5 million USD; 108 projects increased investment capital with 193.5 million USD; 190 foreign investors contributed capital and purchased shares with a total value of 1,991 million USD (including 1 transaction of Japanese investor Sumitomo buying shares of VPBank on the stock exchange with a transaction value of 1,500 million USD).
According to statistics, in the first 6 months of 2023, the whole city attracted 2,265 million USD of FDI capital, leading the country, more than three times higher than the same period in 2022. Of which, there were 196 new projects with a total newly registered investment capital of 75.33 million USD; 89 capital increases with a total additional registered capital of 209 million USD...
Major investment projects in Hanoi are mainly from investors from Japan, Singapore, South Korea, the US, the European Union (EU) countries, etc., focusing on areas such as: real estate business; manufacturing and processing industry; construction; entertainment, accommodation and food services; healthcare and education.
According to the Office of the Hanoi People's Committee, Hanoi is currently making efforts to improve the investment and business environment to effectively attract FDI capital with many solutions. The City People's Committee is ready to further accompany investors to consider resolving difficulties and obstacles. Speed up the progress and improve the quality of the planning work of the Capital for the period 2021-2023, with a vision to 2050, and adjust the overall master plan for the construction of the Capital to 2030 and a vision to 2050 to submit to the Government and the National Assembly for approval in October 2023; coordinate with ministries, departments and branches to complete the Capital Law to promote its potential and advantages.
Continue to establish more industrial parks and clusters to attract FDI; review and promote the progress of completing infrastructure of industrial parks and clusters in a direction suitable to actual needs.
