Nguyen Tuan Phong
Nguyen Tuan Phong (born in 2005, from Bac Ninh) is a student majoring in Control and Automation Engineering at Hanoi University of Science and Technology. The former student of Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted is known as the first student of the province to win an international Gold Medal. Previously, Phong also "pocketed" a series of achievements in Physics at national and regional competitions.
Phong began to have a passion for Physics since middle school. The first time he entered the school laboratory, he explored and played with electrical experiment kits. “Simple questions like: “Why does friction create electricity?” also made me curious. I didn’t expect Physics to have so many interesting things,” Phong said.
From the desire to explain the questions, Phong began to study Physics with great passion. In grade 8, when he joined the gifted student team, Phong won the first prize in the province. In grade 9, the male student continued to win high prizes.
This premise helped Phong pass the entrance exam to the Physics class of Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted with the second highest score in the class. In grade 11, surpassing his older siblings, Phong was selected to compete and won the second prize in the national excellent student competition. After that, he attended the European Physics Olympiad in Slovenia and won a Silver Medal.
Participating in the national excellent student competition in grade 12, Phong had enough experience and courage to win first prize. After that, the male student continued to win the Bronze Medal at the Asian Physics Olympiad and successfully "changed the color" of the medal in the international competition within just 2 months.
With his excellent academic achievements, Tuan Phong was awarded the Second Class Labor Medal in 2023. Currently, Phong cherishes the dream of winning a scholarship to study at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) in the near future.
Nguyen Thi Thu Hoa
Muong ethnic girl Nguyen Thi Thu Hoa is known as the CEO of Truong Foods Production and Trading Joint Stock Company. After graduating from high school, Ms. Hoa got married. Although she did many jobs, she still could not find a suitable job. Then, Hoa realized that the Muong people in Thanh Son (Phu Tho) in her hometown had a very attractive sour meat dish but not many people knew about it. Therefore, she decided to start a business with sour meat - a specialty of her hometown.
She started researching and experimenting, however, things were not easy. Having to try again and again, Ms. Hoa even “cried” when many products failed and had to be thrown away. With a small initial capital, she only bought 1-2kg of meat each time to experiment. After many years of trying to find the formula, the amount of meat produced increased day by day.
In 2015, Truong Foods Production and Trading Company, with Ms. Hoa as Director, was officially established, headquartered in Thanh Son town (Thanh Son district, Phu Tho). Along with expanding the production scale, she registered a traceability stamp to help consumers easily know the origin, source, ingredients and usage of sour meat products.
In addition, Ms. Hoa focuses on developing distribution channels, and to date, there are more than 8,000 sour meat sales points across the provinces and cities. The company's products also account for 40% of the sour meat market share in Phu Tho province. As of September 2023, Truong Foods sold about 2,500,000 products to the market.
In 2022, the Muong ethnic girl won first prize in the National Youth Startup Ideas Competition organized by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union. In the same year, she also won the Promising Young Vietnamese Face award.
