On the evening of March 23, the 2023 Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces Award of the Central Youth Union honored singer Den Vau (Nguyen Duc Cuong) for his persistent dedication over the past time.
Passing on the small flame to the youth
From a young man who was an environmental sanitation worker, music has guided him to become a rapper who shines in the field of culture and art. But more specifically, fans also know him for a life journey and dedication that inspires strongly.
Standing on the stage of the award ceremony, Den is still simple and honest as the way fans always see and love him, but above all, he is humble.
Den elegantly "stepped back" when sharing with the female MC about his persistent contributions. When the MC "gently reminded" him to move forward a bit so that the lights could shine, he seemed somewhat "shy" and "nervous" to receive this honorable award.
"It is an honor, a great milestone in Den Vau's artistic career as well as his life" - he confided.
Even when talking to the press on the sidelines of the award ceremony, Den humbly said he could not believe that he had received such a great honor. It was also because the young nominees were all scientists, young businessmen, and soldiers who had silently devoted themselves to the country for many years.
But Den's music is not limited to just one group of fans. Not only does it reach the hearts of rap listeners, but his music also reaches the hearts of young people, inspiring many people of many different ages.
"Through the award, Den realized that he had passed on a small flame to the youth. They are the ones who always want to contribute and give their youth to their homeland and the Fatherland, they just need to find the right way to do it, with the right direction from the organizations" - Den said.

Music imbued with humanity
Tonight, Den also spent a little more time talking about the projects that he and his friends have been working on over the past time.
He admitted that his original goal as well as the words he wrote in the song were just hoping for a day when his head would be less heavy and less tired by going to the highlands to bring smiles to children.
But not only Den but all of us understand one thing: "When we give love, give happiness, we ourselves also receive happiness many times greater."
First of all, Den wanted to regain his own happiness, to make his mind comfortable, relaxed, and peaceful. But then music led the hearts to beat together, to turn towards the children in remote mountainous areas with many deprivations.
So Den found a way for everyone to join hands, unite together to do good things and spread it to the community.
"In addition to bringing back material things, the most important thing is that we unite together, humanity is enhanced and then, the music environment in particular of Den will be imbued with humanity. This humanity is not created by Den but lies within every Vietnamese person" - he confided.
He also thanked the fans who always followed him. From an ordinary person to an artist, Den said it was a great blessing, and he thought he had the responsibility to repay that blessing.
Den said that he always feels "indebted" to the audience and he wants to do more to "repay" everyone. Even though he knows that he will never be able to repay it all in this life...
Although he can't promise anything in advance because it depends on his creative inspiration, Den said that in his heart he always wants to do more, to compose songs to bring positivity and encouragement to everyone and to his beloved audience.
"Mr. Den Vau, we thank you very much"
Recently, Den Vau used all of his profits of nearly 700 million to build schools for children in the highlands of Lai Chau and Cao Bang. He and his fellow brothers also gave a gift of a computer room to students of Tuong Duong Ethnic Boarding School (Nghe An).
The program organizers connected the images of the students in the mountainous region of Nghe An. The moment he saw the children, Den's eyes sparkled with happiness.
"The things that Den does are just to give that help, to give the children a gentle stepping stone to enter life more comfortably. Den hopes that in the future, the children will strive to develop, contribute to their homeland, contribute to the country and develop themselves" - Den confided.
