On the morning of June 29, SJC Company listed the buying price of SJC gold bars at 74.98 million VND/tael and the selling price at 76.98 million VND/tael - stable for nearly a month. This is also the selling price of gold bars of commercial banks.
Meanwhile, the price of 24K gold rings and jewelry gold of all kinds purchased by SJC Company was 73.95 million VND/tael, sold at 75.55 million VND/tael - an increase of 50,000 VND compared to yesterday.
PNJ Company sells plain gold rings at 75.6 million VND/tael, while Bao Tin Minh Chau Company sells up to 75.98 million VND/tael, approaching the 76 million VND/tael mark. In the past 2 days, the price of gold rings has increased sharply by nearly half a million VND.
Prices of 24K gold rings and jewelry of all kinds continue to increase
With this development, the price of plain gold rings is only about 1 million VND lower than that of SJC gold bars - a record low difference in recent times.
Domestic gold prices rose following world prices. In the international market, the price of this precious metal closed the last trading week of June at 2,326 USD/ounce, up about 5 USD compared to the previous session.
During the session, the price of gold briefly rose to nearly $2,340 before falling back. Analysts said that weak inflation data in the US could help the Federal Reserve (FED) be more determined to cut interest rates for the first time at its policy meeting in September. If the FED cuts interest rates, gold prices will benefit.
In the foreign exchange market, the free USD price continues to remain above the 26,000 VND mark. This morning, some foreign exchange points in Ho Chi Minh City quoted the USD buying price at 25,946 VND/USD, selling at 26,026 VND/USD - a slight decrease compared to yesterday but still at the highest peak this year.
The USD price at banks remains low and more stable, around 25,253 VND/USD for buying and 25,473 VND/USD for selling. The USD price at banks is about 550 VND lower than in the free market.
