Gia Lai: Wild Sunflower Week

(CLO) On the afternoon of October 29, Gia Lai province held a press conference to inform about the Wild Sunflower Week - Chu Dang Ya Volcano 2024, which will take place from November 6 to November 12.

According to the Organizing Committee, the 2024 Wild Sunflower - Chu Dang Ya Volcano Week will take place from November 6 to November 12. The opening ceremony will start at 8:00 a.m. on November 8 at the yard of the Ia Gri Village Communal House (Chu Dang Ya Commune, Chu Pah District) with many unique cultural activities such as: Gong performance, folk dance, reenactment of the New Rice Celebration ceremony; Display and introduction of traditional brocade costumes; Demonstration of statue carving, pounding rice with a pair of pestles; Fashion show; Art exchange; traditional weaving and brocade weaving competition...

The press conference to inform about the Wild Sunflower Week - Chu Dang Ya Volcano 2024 was attended by many leaders and reporters.

Also taking place are activities that attract visitors to experience and for the first time, there are images of hot air balloons with diverse colors flying in the space of the festival; Half Marathon 2024 with the theme "Awakening the Chu Pah countryside - Journey connecting mountains and flowers" attracting thousands of participants, including professional and amateur runners; Competition to conquer the peak of Chu Dang Ya volcano...

Chu Dang Ya volcano, where millions of wild sunflowers with brilliant yellow color will bloom in the upcoming cultural and tourism event organized by Gia Lai province.

The program is highly anticipated by tourists and people as an art event to welcome the Flower Week with the theme "Wild Sunflower Dance - Chu Dang Ya 2024" which will take place from 8:10 p.m. on November 9, including 3 chapters: "The Legend of Chu Dang Ya - Million-year Sediment"; "The Vitality of the Great Forest"; "Wild Sunflower Dance" with a combination of many types of art forms: singing, dancing, ensemble performance, modern dance, and animation.

In particular, this special art show will feature performances by more than 400 actors and audiences. This is the performance that received the Vietnamese Record for “The Central Highlands Gong Performance with the largest number of artists, actors, and students in Vietnam” as confirmed by the Vietnam Record Organization (Vietkings).

The yellow color of wild sunflowers attracts many tourists from near and far during the years of the Wild Sunflower Festival - Chu Dang Ya Volcano in Gia Lai province.

After many years of organizing the festival, this is the first year that the Wild Sunflower Week - Chu Dang Ya Volcano has been officially upgraded to a provincial festival. Therefore, the upcoming cultural and tourism event has a huge investment in funding and preparation of facilities, performance rehearsals, modern stages, sound, lighting... along with a low-altitude fireworks display on the night of November 9.

The cultural event Wild Sunflower Week - Chu Dang Ya Volcano also has the participation of many artists loved by the audience such as: Diva Thanh Lam, singer Minh Quan, singer Luu Huong Giang, singer Kyo York...

Vice Chairwoman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Thanh Lich affirmed: This is a major cultural event of the province, so the Provincial People's Committee has requested departments, branches, and local authorities to pay attention to ensuring food hygiene and safety; prevent restaurants, eateries, parking lots, etc. from "ripping off" tourists in order to leave a beautiful image of the province in the hearts of visitors from near and far.
