BHG - In March, although the weather at the border still carries the cold of the highlands, the atmosphere here is warmer than ever when dozens of new houses are inaugurated, lighting up the faith and hope for many poor households about a more stable and fulfilling life. The houses named after the Border Guard (BĐBP) to help people are further proof of the close-knit relationship between the army and the people, the affection between the land and sky of the border.

Along the Ha Giang border in March, it is not difficult to see border guards and people dismantling makeshift houses, digging soil, digging foundations, and transporting materials to build new houses. There are small, narrow, steep, rocky roads that are not easy to transport sand, gravel, and cement, but with the highest spirit and responsibility, the soldiers still persevere to overcome all difficulties and hardships, willing to help people as if they were their own relatives. Therefore, in the fastest time possible, solid houses were completed and put into use in the happiness and excitement of the people.

Officers and soldiers of Thanh Thuy International Border Gate Border Guard Station (Vi Xuyen) contributed dozens of working days to clear temporary houses for people.

Captain Phan The Ha, Deputy Political Commissar of Thanh Thuy International Border Guard Station, shared: “On the border line of Vi Xuyen district managed by the Station, there are points in remote villages and hamlets, border areas that are still very difficult, isolated in terms of terrain and traffic. Many poor households, single people, and policy families do not have the conditions to repair and rebuild their houses. Therefore, implementing the policy of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses launched by the Government, the Station has mobilized and called for all external resources and contributions from officers and soldiers to eliminate 7 temporary houses. With the consensus and support from benefactors, local Party committees, authorities and people, the households have urgently built houses. In addition to the support amount of 60 million VND/household, the Station has mobilized forces to directly participate in building new houses for people, ensuring the set schedule”.

On the day of moving into their new home, Mr. Hau Mi Phuong and his wife, Ma Hoang Phin village, Minh Tan commune (Vi Xuyen) were filled with joy and emotion. The couple had four children, but three of them were disabled. The family mainly worked in the fields, and their life was difficult and lacking everything. After many years of living in a dilapidated, cramped temporary house, and every rainy and stormy season, he never thought that one day his family would be able to live in a solidly built house with enough space to protect them from the sun and rain. Mr. Phuong said: “Thanks to the hands and hearts of soldiers and philanthropists, our family's dream of having a solid house has come true. I will try harder to take care of my children, focus on economic development, and gradually improve our lives.”

Lieutenant Colonel Ha Van Do, Deputy Head of the Political Department of the Provincial Border Guard Command, affirmed: “Over the years, the Border Guard force has not only carried out the task of protecting territorial sovereignty, but also always stood side by side with the people, sharing every difficulty in life. In this journey to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, the Provincial Border Guard coordinated with Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company to organize the charity program "From the highlands to the sky" to raise funds to support the elimination of temporary houses. In addition, we have connected with the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) to help 1 more household build a house. The total number of households supported to build new houses is 36, with a total amount of more than 2.1 billion VND. Each house is a fulcrum, the strength of compassion, solidarity, a great source of motivation for people to rise up in all circumstances. With that practical meaning, the Provincial Border Guard will continue to donate, mobilize, and spread the program, so that many households can escape temporary houses, stabilize their lives long-term, and stand firm on the road. frontier land

Leaving the border after the meeting, we always remember the image of the soldier wearing a simple, honest green uniform sitting around the people to listen to their feelings, wishes, and plans for a bright future. Like a flame that never goes out, we are confident that in the near future, new houses will be built, and the lives of our people will be increasingly "changed", prosperous, and stable.
