On the morning of April 17, the Department of Information and Communications of Gia Lai province coordinated with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Department of Education and Training, the Gia Lai Provincial Library and the People's Committee of Chu Pah district to organize the launching ceremony of the Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2024 at Mac Dinh Chi High School (Phu Hoa town).  |

In her opening speech, Ms. Le Thi Thu Huong - Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications stated: Each good book not only contains a treasure trove of knowledge and quintessence but also opens the door to the values of Truthfulness-Goodness-Beauty. Developing a reading culture is a way to acquire knowledge and nurture the soul, helping each person open up a new horizon for themselves. For a reading culture to truly enter life, accompany and develop widely in society, the Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications hopes that units and localities will strengthen propaganda and mobilize people to raise awareness of reading culture; mobilize the participation of people and all social resources so that Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day (April 21) becomes a community festival; spread positive effects, build a learning society contributing to the development of human culture, meeting the needs of sustainable development of the country. Besides, organize campaigns and donate books to support remote, isolated and extremely disadvantaged areas, contributing to improving people's spiritual life.

The Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications also hopes that each individual builds a habit of reading, choosing topics or issues to read for themselves; having the most suitable and effective method to read books; introducing good books to relatives and friends to join hands in building a learning, progressive and developing society. "Let's make reading an indispensable part of our lives" - Ms. Huong initiated. Next, the school's students spread the reading culture through the introduction of the book "Love the Imperfect Things" by author Hae Min (Korea); participating in the game "Quiz with prizes" with questions about books and newspapers; visiting the book display area, reading books of their choice.

At the ceremony, the Department of Information and Communications, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Gia Lai Provincial Library and the People's Committee of Chu Pah District presented 4 reading promotion gifts to the Mac Dinh Chi High School Library. Truong Xuan Joint Stock Company presented 20 gifts (each worth 300,000 VND) to the school's excellent students who overcame difficulties to encourage their love for books and their desire to learn.
