This afternoon, December 20, the Office of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province held a meeting to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Provincial Citizen Reception Committee on December 22 (2014 - 2024). Pursuant to the Law on Citizen Reception passed by the 13th National Assembly and effective from July 1, 2014, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 2793/QD-UBND on the establishment of the Provincial Citizen Reception Committee (under the Provincial People's Committee Office) on the basis of transferring the current status of the Citizen Reception Committee (under the Provincial Inspectorate) to the Provincial People's Committee Office.
The Provincial Citizen Reception Committee has the function of advising and assisting the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial National Assembly Delegation in performing the task of receiving citizens in accordance with the law. After 10 years of establishment and development, the committee has become an important bridge between the government and the people, contributing to building a transparent and effective administration; creating people's trust in the direction and administration of the local government.
Specifically, regarding citizen reception work, from 2014 to 2024, the Provincial Citizen Reception Committee directly received citizens regularly and served the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee with 3,396 visits/6,748 people/2,051 cases; received 675 complaints, denunciations and recommendations.
Complaints, denunciations and recommendations have been handled in accordance with the law. The Committee has advised the Provincial People's Committee to issue notices on the schedule of regular citizen reception by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; developed a plan for citizen reception; organized on-site meetings to regularly receive citizens... Advised the Provincial People's Committee to issue 117 notices concluding periodic citizen reception; 1,800 documents of various types to urge and respond to citizens and forwarded to departments, branches, People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to inspect, verify and resolve citizens' contents...

Regarding the key tasks in the coming time, the Provincial Citizen Reception Committee will continue to improve and enhance the effectiveness of citizen reception, handling complaints and denunciations in the province; develop a plan for receiving citizens periodically every quarter and every year.
Timely advise the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee on periodic citizen reception and citizen reception associated with the settlement of complaints, denunciations, recommendations and reflections of citizens; enhance the application of information technology, digital transformation in citizen reception activities and serve the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee in receiving citizens...

Speaking at the meeting, Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong emphasized that the Provincial Citizen Reception Committee needs to continue to thoroughly grasp and seriously implement Directive No. 35 dated May 26, 2014 of the Politburo on strengthening the Party's leadership in citizen reception, complaint and denunciation settlement; Law on Citizen Reception, Law on Complaints, Law on Denunciations, etc.
The collective of cadres and civil servants of the department must constantly study and research to understand relevant legal documents; improve professional skills, knowledge, and have a strong political stance to explain, guide, and persuade citizens in a reasonable and reasonable manner; contribute to reducing complaints and denunciations beyond the level of authority and minimizing the occurrence of disputes and prolonged complaints.
Strengthen coordination with the Provincial Inspectorate, agencies, units and localities to focus on reviewing crowded, pending, complicated and prolonged cases to advise the Provincial People's Committee to take timely and effective measures.
Coordinate with agencies, units and localities to advise the Provincial People's Committee to summarize 10 years of implementing the Law on Citizen Reception, on that basis propose solutions to improve the effectiveness of citizen reception work in the province in the coming time.
Research and advise on building an online citizen reception system, connecting the online citizen reception line from the bridge point of the Provincial Citizen Reception Office to the People's Committees at district and commune levels, contributing to reducing travel time, costs and efforts of the people according to the requirements of the Government Inspectorate.
On this occasion, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 5 collectives and 10 individuals for their achievements in public reception work in the period 2014 - 2024.
