Total output and revenue of the corporation are expected to be 101% or more compared to the same period. Direct revenue from transportation is 104.5% or more compared to the same period.
A representative of Vietnam Railways Corporation said: This target is set on the basis of positive and positive results in production and business in 2023. Specifically, for the consolidated corporation, revenue is VND 8,503.8 billion, reaching 101.7% of the yearly plan; profit after tax is VND 94.8 billion, reaching 115% of the plan, while in the same period, there was a loss of VND 111.9 billion.

The parent company alone had revenue of VND 6,247 billion, equal to 113.2% over the same period; Profit after tax of VND 4.5 billion, equivalent to 150% of the target assigned by the State Capital Management Committee at enterprises, while in 2022, it lost VND 173 billion.
To achieve the goals and tasks of 2024, Vietnam Railways Corporation requires the representative of the corporation's capital at transport companies to organize well the peak transport period of the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin to ensure safety in all aspects. Continue to improve the quality of passenger transport services on trains and at stations; implement solutions to combat negativity, and cover passengers and goods on passenger trains.
At the same time, implement the salary fund allocation based on revenue from the Hanoi - Hai Phong route to create initiative in business, increase labor productivity, increase output and revenue. Maintain and replicate the high-quality train model SE19/SE20 Hanoi - Da Nang. Build a summer 2024 package tour for passengers traveling to Vinh, Quang Binh, Hue, Da Nang... by rail.
Regarding freight transport, operate trains according to the registered schedule, exploit agricultural and intra-industry product flows well. Maintain and enhance container transport, international intermodal transport and actively participate in the logistics chain. Research and develop additional products and services of specialized trains, North-South container trains, refrigerated containers, etc.
For railway infrastructure maintenance companies, carry out the management and maintenance of railway infrastructure in accordance with the provisions of the contract, meet current quality standards and complete the 2024 plan to ensure disbursement progress. In addition, expand relationships with investors, businesses inside and outside the industry to find jobs, or form joint ventures to improve competitiveness in bidding for works and projects.
In 2024, Vietnam Railway Corporation will merge two joint stock companies Hanoi and Saigon Railway Transport as planned to improve competitiveness, increase output, revenue and reduce costs.
Currently, the plans on human resources, finance, labor, and operation have been completed and the opinions of competent authorities have been sought. It is expected that the corporation will complete the implementation in the second quarter at the earliest. At the same time, the Project on restructuring Vietnam Railway Corporation for the period up to the end of 2025 will be implemented after being approved by the Prime Minister.
