Build progress day by day
Having the opportunity to visit the investment project to build a connecting road connecting the provinces of Thai Nguyen, Bac Giang and Vinh Phuc (referred to as the regional connecting road) in Thai Nguyen, we clearly felt the construction spirit of the contractors.
The Ministry of National Defense's 319 Corporation is focusing on constructing the overpass over Nhe Pass, connecting Thai Nguyen with Vinh Phuc.
Mr. Le Duc Thien, Commander of Corporation 319 (Ministry of National Defense) shared: "Currently, the construction site is still facing difficulties due to prolonged heavy rain, affecting the progress of some excavation and road surfacing items. There are still some medium and low voltage electrical works on the route that have not been moved, and the capacity of quarries in Thai Nguyen province cannot meet the requirements...
According to Mr. Thien, the unit is building the construction progress every day, striving to bring the project to completion on time by the end of this year.
"Currently, the unit is mobilizing 50 road rollers, 19 excavators and more than 200 vehicles of various types with hundreds of engineers and workers divided into 3 shifts/day at 8 construction sites along the entire route. By the end of August, we will basically complete the construction of the roadbed, level 1 asphalt concrete pavement of about 15km, ensuring the right schedule," said Mr. Thien.
Similarly, despite many difficulties due to weather and material supply, these days, Hoang Son Investment, Construction and Trade Joint Stock Company is mobilizing nearly 100 rollers, excavators, bulldozers and dozens of cars, divided into 8 construction teams along the entire route.
The contractor representative said: "We have undertaken the construction of 10.4km of regional connecting road; construction work is currently being carried out in 3 shifts along the entire route. By the end of August, the roadbed construction has basically been completed, and the first step of asphalt concrete pavement has reached about 6km. If the weather is favorable, we will definitely complete the route on time by the end of this year."
Extra shifts, working all night to finish early
According to the Thai Nguyen Province Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (PMU), to ensure the quality and progress of the project, the unit has established a management board, on duty 24/7 at the construction site, closely following the construction sites to promptly remove difficulties and obstacles.
The regional connecting road, the section passing through Dai Tu district, Thai Nguyen, has basically completed the first layer of asphalt concrete and is ready to be put into operation from the end of this year.
The Project Management Board reviews the progress daily and urges contractors to ensure quality. On the occasion of the 79th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2), the Project Management Board held a ceremony to launch a peak construction competition between contractors and investors.
Mr. Bui Tien Chinh, Director of the Project Management Board, affirmed that the investor will closely monitor the construction process and work with the contractor to resolve all arising difficulties and problems.
Mr. Chinh also requested contractors to increase construction speed, work overtime, and work at night to make up for the slow progress due to heavy rain. During the construction process, all measures to ensure labor safety, traffic safety, and environmental sanitation must be strictly implemented.
For design consultants and supervision consultants, they are regularly present 24/7 at the construction site, conduct regular and continuous supervision, promptly grasp and guide the resolution of problems arising at the construction site, propose to the investor appropriate solutions and measures, and remove obstacles related to the exploitation and supply of construction materials...
The regional connecting road project started construction on May 12, 2022, with a construction schedule of 30 months and a total length of 42.55km. The starting point of the route is Hoa Son Bridge (Bac Giang province), connecting with the Hanoi - Thai Nguyen Expressway at Yen Binh intersection (Pho Yen city, Thai Nguyen province) and connecting with Vinh Phuc province at Nhe pass, Thanh Cong commune, Pho Yen city (Thai Nguyen province). When completed and put into use, the project will contribute to promoting the socio-economic development of Thai Nguyen province and neighboring provinces.
