Tourists traveling on tours increase
Da Nang City Department of Tourism said that during the Lunar New Year 2024, activities, events, and festivals serving people and tourists were well organized.
The total number of visitors to Da Nang during Tet this year is estimated at about 402 thousand, an increase of 37% over the same period in 2023. Of which, international visitors are estimated at nearly 177 thousand. Total tourism revenue is estimated at about 1,580 billion VND.
Updated information from Da Nang International Airport and airlines, the total number of domestic and international flights to Da Nang during the 7-day Tet holiday from February 8 to 14, 2024 (29th of Tet to 5th of Tet) is estimated at 777 flights. On average, there are 111 flights to Da Nang every day, including 58 domestic flights and 53 international flights.
During the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin 2024, there will be 3 cruise ships arriving at Tien Sa port (2 Zhao Shang Yi Dun ships on February 7 and 14, 1 Dream Cruise ship on February 9), all with 1-night stay at the port, with a total of 3,400 visitors to visit famous destinations in Da Nang such as Ngu Hanh Son, Linh Ung Pagoda - Son Tra, Museum of Cham Sculpture...
According to the Da Nang Department of Tourism, the number of people and tourists participating in Han River cruises is also quite high, estimated at 21,680 (an increase of about 50% over the same period in 2023).
During this time, tourists are mainly individual guests, accounting for about 60-70%, concentrated on the 2nd to 5th days of Tet; guests mainly stay in 4-5 star hotels and equivalent along the coast.
The number of tourists traveling on tours during the Lunar New Year increased compared to the New Year due to the long holiday. Tourists mainly travel in small groups (family, friends, couples). Domestic tourists are mainly tourists from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring Central provinces such as Quang Nam, Thua Thien Hue, Quang Ngai... International tourists are mainly from Korea, Taiwan, Japan, India, Southeast Asia (Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore...), America, Australia...
Some tourist attractions welcomed a large number of visitors during Tet holiday such as: Sun World Ba Na Hills tourist area welcomed more than 82,000 visitors, an increase of 8% over the same period in 2023; Asia Park welcomed nearly 35,000 visitors, an increase of 16% over the same period in 2023; Ngu Hanh Son scenic relic welcomed nearly 40,000 visitors, an increase of 31% over the same period in 2023; Son Tra peninsula welcomed more than 70,000 visitors, an increase of 57% over the same period in 2023; Mikazuki water park welcomed nearly 11,000 visitors, an increase of more than 50% over the same period in 2023; Nui Than Tai hot spring park welcomed nearly 8,000 visitors, an increase of 44% over the same period in 2023...

In order to serve the people and tourists during the Lunar New Year 2024, Da Nang City has organized many attractive activities and events at public places such as: Nightly art programs from the 2nd to the 5th of Tet by Sun Group Joint Stock Company; Art program "Welcome Spring 2024" on the 2nd of Tet by Da Nang City Event Association; Comprehensive art program "Welcome the Party and Welcome Spring" on the 3rd and 5th of Tet by Nguyen Hien Dinh Tuong Theater; Art program "Da Nang in Spring" on the 4th of Tet by the City Cultural - Cinema Center.
In particular, Da Nang has installed a check-in model at the Dragon Bridge area; organized flower decorations and lighting for Tet; organized fireworks on New Year's Eve; organized fire and water spraying at the Dragon Bridge (from February 9 to 13), performed the rotation of the Han River Bridge; organized cultural and artistic activities to celebrate...

In addition, the Department of Tourism has coordinated with Da Nang International Airport, Da Nang International Terminal Investment and Operation Joint Stock Company and airlines to welcome visitors on the first domestic and international flights to the city on the occasion of Lunar New Year. Specifically, flights: VN628 operated by Vietnam Airlines from Don Muong (Thailand), JX701 from Taipei (Taiwan, China) by Starlux Airlines and VN157 from Hanoi by Vietnam Airlines.
