BOT fee collection for provincial road 768 is about to resume.

Currently, Dong Nai province authorities are coordinating with the project investor, Sonadezi Chau Duc Joint Stock Company, to implement procedures to adjust the BOT project of Provincial Road 768.

This includes adjusting to remove the Thien Tan water plant road and the parallel road of this route from the project.

After completing the project adjustment, Thien Tan water plant road will be handed over to Dong Nai Department of Transport for management and implementation of upgrading and expansion.

According to the plan, Thien Tan water plant road will have a minimum scale of 4 lanes, with additional drainage, lighting, and sidewalk systems using provincial budget funds.

It is known that the BOT (build - operate - transfer) project of provincial road 768 includes a complex of six routes with a total length of more than 48km.

The project is invested by Sonadezi Chau Duc Joint Stock Company with a total investment of more than 534 billion VND (excluding compensation costs for site clearance and relocation of technical infrastructure systems).

The payback period is 30 years expected from 2010-2039 and the toll collection period to generate profit is 5 years expected from 2040-2044.

The project started collecting tolls to recover capital from November 2010. However, on January 1, 2021, BOT Provincial Road 768 temporarily stopped collecting tolls so that the investor could install an ETC non-stop toll collection system as required by the Government.

As planned, after the investor completes the installation of the ETC non-stop toll collection system and is inspected by relevant departments and agencies to ensure that it meets the required conditions, toll collection will resume. However, due to many reasons, the project has not yet resumed toll collection to recover capital.

According to preliminary calculations by the authorities, after adjusting the investment policy and separating the Hoang Van Bon road project from the project, the capital needed to collect fees to recover capital for the remaining projects will be about 425 billion VND.

With this capital, the project's expected toll collection period will be more than 9 years.
