Many foreign tourists coming to Hoi An ancient town are excited to experience growing vegetables and watering with farmers at the world's best tourist village in 2024.

On the morning of November 15 (Vietnam time), the Award Announcement Ceremony took place in Colombia, officially recognizing Tra Que Vegetable Village as the Best Tourist Village of 2024 by the United Nations Tourism Organization (UN Tourism).

Located about 3km from the center of Hoi An ancient town (Quang Nam), Tra Que vegetable village was formed 400 years ago. The village is located on an island, surrounded by Co Co river and Tra Que lagoon. Thanks to the advantage of sandy alluvial soil and mild climate, people have developed a long-standing organic vegetable growing profession.

Tra Que village has 202 households cultivating an area of 18 hectares, supplying the market with about 1,000 tons of various vegetables each year, bringing a stable source of income.

There are currently 23 accommodation establishments, 16 restaurants and many additional services providing job opportunities and direct benefits to people in the village and surrounding areas.

With the orientation of developing green tourism, in recent years, Tra Que village has linked the labor and production process of the people with tourism and service activities, creating unique and attractive tourism products, meeting the needs and tastes of customers.

Hoi An also organizes training courses on tourism skills, foreign languages and soft skills for local people to improve the quality of service to tourists.

Not only offering experiences of nature and cuisine, Tra Que vegetable village is also a valuable cultural destination.

In Tra Que village, historical relics such as Cham stone wells, Tho Than temple, Ngu Hanh temple, Nguyen Van Dien's tomb... or Cau Bong worship ceremony along with customs, practices, beliefs, and culinary culture are also being preserved and promoted effectively.
