Talking to Tuoi Tre Online , Tran Thi Hong An (currently an illustrator and freelance model) said that on the morning of March 8, she participated in the Bach Hoa Walking Parade event on Nguyen Hue Walking Street (HCMC). The 25-year-old girl currently lives in Go Vap District.
After returning home and taking a nap, An was surprised to receive a series of name tags from friends on social networks. She did not expect that her image would receive so much attention.
An continuously receives many compliments, including comments that she resembles Queen Nam Phuong in her youth. She was the wife of King Bao Dai, and also the last queen in the feudal dynasty of Vietnam.
Hong An shared that she learned about the event through a close sister. "She encouraged me to join. After that, I watched many videos and pictures on social media of the event in Hanoi before. I was so fascinated that I decided to register to join," Hong An confided.
The girl applied online and was approved. However, she had no idea she would be wearing the queen's outfit.
"The organizers chose costumes for each model. After receiving the costumes, my fellow participants and I were instructed on how to walk and express ourselves during the traditional costume parade.
As a model, I not only need to show the beauty of the costume but also convey the spirit and demeanor of that historical figure. It was a very unforgettable experience for me," An said.
Bach Hoa Bi Hanh is a traditional costume parade event in Ho Chi Minh City on March 8 with nearly 1,000 participants. Nearly 1,000 people wearing five-panel ao dai and traditional costumes walked through central streets of Ho Chi Minh City such as Nguyen Hue - Le Loi - Ben Thanh central station (metro line 1) - City Theater - September 23 park - Bui Vien.
This activity is within the framework of the Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival 2025.
"I am both proud and pressured, because this is not just a costume, but also the image of a historical figure that has left a deep impression on people's hearts," An said - Photo provided by the character
Before the event, Tran Thi Hong An prepared very carefully. She tried to go to bed early to have a fresh spirit and smooth skin to look like… Queen Nam Phuong.
She also builds a nutritious diet and exercises regularly to be beautiful from the inside out. Not to mention, An also practices posing in front of the mirror to "get into character" better.

Although she has modeled many times, An said she was still very confused at big events. An shared that in the photo, there would be a guy on the left who would always line up with her.
"Mr. Ha was the one walking on my left. He kept reminding and observing me to make sure I didn't go too fast. So when people saw him looking at me constantly, he was actually correcting the line and reminding me not to go too fast.
This was the first time I participated in such a big event so I was very nervous. Until now, when I think back to performing at that event that had such a strong cultural and historical mark, I still feel nervous but happy because my image is remembered by many people," An said.

With her gentle beauty and captivating aura when wearing the traditional costume, the girl quickly became the center of attention, attracting many people to stop and take pictures. They praised her for having the same aura as Queen Nam Phuong of ancient times.
These comments made An very happy. But she thought most of the attention came from the solemn atmosphere of the event and the historical costumes. "Maybe those factors made people feel that way," she said.
"I hope the image of our traditional costumes will be spread so that everyone can understand and appreciate more about the historical and cultural values of the nation. This is a way for us to preserve and promote traditional beauty. At the same time, it is also an opportunity to introduce to international friends about the rich culture of Vietnam," An said.

An shared that she loves traditional costumes and always wants to contribute to spreading the beauty of traditional Vietnamese costumes.
An hopes that these projects will inspire the younger generation, help them realize the value of national culture and together bring the image of Vietnamese culture to the world.
